The author has the ability to lead the reader into a world of the past, as if it was from today. One will want to visit for example, Twin Oaks, and is expected to almost meet the main character there.

I loved this book, the trials poor Jesse and her family went through are so sad and true to life at that time I am sure. But I am anxious to read the other books belonging to this series and cannot find them!?
