This was exactly what I hoped it would be! It is a must read for all parents of boys. It is an easy read and yet spiritually challenging to be 'more' for our precious young men. The authors, while not pretending to have all the answers, have invited us into their journey; to glean from the wisdom they have earned along the way. It has deeply encouraged me to continue on in this 'good fight' to raise my son to be a godly young man. There are times when I want to throw my hands up in surrender to this seemingly oppresive culture but God has used this little book to remind me to press on, stand fast and to hold on to the vision he has for manhood. I am so grateful for the Young family and their willingness to share their family with us all.

Me and My House

Although the process of Raising Real Men is not always fun, reading the book was a delight. As a mother of 4 sons (and 6 daughters), I was encouraged as over and over I caught myself saying, Yes!, to both the description of the behavior and wiring of boys and the proper biblical response and direction they need. Hal and Melanie Young have put together a must read for parents desiring to raise sons for Christ.

This is a MUST have book for parents of boys. I enjoyed every page and found a great wealth of information within the 251 pages. The authors included advice on nearly every aspect of raising sons, from discipline and authority to toy guns and dating. Definitely worth the money.
