CBD had this book for only $2.99 when I purchased it! What a deal!!! Our church just started a sermon series based on Not a Fan so its timing was perfect. I'd highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a deeper, committed relationship with Jesus Christ. Even if you think you're a follower already, dig into this book and find out more about what that means!

I don't know how fair it is to write a review when I have not finished reading the book, but I must say that I am really enjoying it so far. The book is so easy to read with just the right touch of humor spattered throughout. I think the reason I am taking my time reading the book is because I don't want it to end!
I am hoping that Kyle is working on another book. I love his style!!

This was my first ebook. I liked how easy it was to purchase and download. I wanted to read from my phone also, so I used the CBD reader. I was not crazy about the reader because it did not have the features available to resize text, etc. I will have to learn to download and use another reader. I would definitely recommend ebooks to friends.

Stay away from this book if you are ok with your same old same old Christian walk. But if you are ready to take the next step in your Christian walk, this book is for you. Be ready to be challenged like you never have been before.

I need books that call me out on my lukewarm-ness. Nobody likes to admit it, but we are lacking in so many areas and we need someone to get in our face and call it like they see. This book does that. I feel the fire that this book has stirred up in me and I am so grateful. My name is Charissa Mood and I am not a fan.

When it comes to Jesus, are you a fan or a follower? According to Idleman, “Are you a follower of Jesus?” is the most important question you will ever answer. Many claim to be followers of Jesus. We point to our church attendance, tithing, charity work, etc., as proof. However, most would be surprised to find that when their lives are compared to Jesus’ own words, they are really nothing more than enthusiastic admirers. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God. We have accepted his work of salvation and follow the rules… but we don’t put Jesus first in our lives. We give ourselves to God on Sunday, and maybe a Wednesday, but there are things in our lives we won’t hand over to God. In “Not a Fan” Idleman explains how you can determine if you are a fan or a follower, and shows through scripture what it really means to be a follower of Jesus.
As someone who has claimed to be a follower of Jesus, this book both confirmed and convicted me. What really struck me about this book is that I’ve heard most of this before, but the presentation makes it hard to ignore. Idleman has found a way to lay this all out so that it can’t be misunderstood. He talks about the dangers of not presenting what it’s really like to be a follower of Jesus when sharing the gospel, or turning the church into a kind of Consumer Christianity. He discusses the connection between believing and doing (James 2:17). And it all comes back to Jesus’ words in Matthew 7:21-23. Everyone, especially those who call themselves Christian, should read this book.

I purchased this ebook as a back-up. I know that sounds backward, but it's true. I loaded it on my smart phone. Many times I find myself in a position of having to "wait". Although I don't always have a book with me; I always have my phone. NOT A FAN & PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE are both books I keep with me, and refer to frequently. Ebooks have made it so convenient for me to do that.
