I find the "Explode the Code" series very helpful in teaching phonics sounds to children. I have used it in the classroom as a classroom teacher and I am now using it as a homeschool teacher. It gives lots of opportunities for practice and gives students success in mastering sounds.

Reading, handwriting practice of real words, spelling & vocab. These books cover them all. My boys & I love this series and I am sure other kids would love them too. They can even be colored in because they are black line drawing pictures.

A REAL confidence builder!! I have children ranging from 1 in college (my oldest, 19yrs old now) all the way down to my youngest, (3yrs old.) I have found that if you build a humble confidence in any child they succeed. If they feel sure with in them selves everything else falls into place. I find these "Explode the Code" series seem to be a real confidence builder! I like that very much, and so do my children! Hope the series would work as good for you too.

I find these books to be very adult and child friendly. They are easy to work with and children love the funny sentences and pictures. These workbooks are excellent for children who need to spend more time with phonics. I work with children who have Mild Mental Retardation. These books are excellent.

Love ETC! It continues to be a great phonics program for my kids, and I love that I can give them pages and don't have to hover. I appreciate that it gives the reinforcement in each lesson, and the additional help in the "1/2" books. CBD has the best price that I've found - including the home school book fairs that I've attended. Highly recommend the whole series!

One of the best workbooks out there for reinforcing reading and spelling! My only complaint is that the pages where words have to be written do not allow much space for beginning (big) writers.
