This features of a reference are not user friendly and when you finally are able to reach the link or cross reference, you are not able to return to your previous verse : have to go back to the library and start over

I chose this bible because it was a good value. I have used it in Sunday school and Bible study and am able to keep up while we flip from one passage to another because you can choose which book and chapter to go to very quickly. If you are the kind of person who likes to write notes in their bible, that's a little more time consuming.

I have deep respect for the publishers of the ESV for making this edition available for free to all readers worldwide. This is a quality "e-Bible," with a complete table of contents (on pages 4-5 -- some reviewers failed to find this and panned the Bible on this basis), each link of which takes you to a second table of contents for the book (e.g., Jeremiah) by chapter.
The print is clear and, if you don't like it, you can alter the font, size, and layout.
I am not a complete fan of the ESV, per se, since I do think it's taken some unnecessary steps backward in terms of gender-exclusive language, but it's a strong translation in the RSV tradition. For the record, I have also published elsewhere that the NRSV took some problematic steps in its effort to inclusivize everything (for example, abandoning the kinship term "brothers" in favor of "beloved" or "friends," when I would have much preferred to see "brothers and sisters" used to retain the kinship overtones -- and don't get me started on the NRSV presentation of Psalm 8 as quoted in Hebrews 2).
The print is clear and, if you don't like it, you can alter the font, size, and layout.

The features I like best and use the most for Bible study are the index of OT and NT books is so conveniently located in the margin. The reference and footnotes connect the thread of thoughts and are easily navigated.

The ESV Bible is a good value and good to use for evangelism projects. We used these Bibles for our Vacation Bible School and our Mission Trip. The only difficulty we have is that the print is VERY small.
