SUMMARY: Ivy Malone, an older-aged woman but definitely not of old-age mentality, takes on sleuthing. Deeming herself “socially invisible”, Ivy Malone takes it upon herself to solve a few crimes involving a tenant and a cemetery. Though very unconventional, Ivy eventually even convinces the police to take her crime-fighting seriously (even though her oddball ways seem a little crazy).
A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS: While the premise of this story caught my attention, it was the crazy, laugh-out-loud, Oh-no-you-didn’t humor that really kept me reading. Though a little slow in the beginning while setting up the storyline, it quickly had me reading late into the evening to see what happened next. As the ending neared, I found I couldn’t put the book down! Invisible is the first book in the Ivy Malone Mystery Series with more to follow. I will definitely read more whacky Ivy Malone novels as I know a few “Ivy Malones” in my own life.

I love how Lorena McCourtney weaves the story and keeps you guessing in this "who done it". Can't put it down!!

I throughly enjoyed this read from Lorena McCourtney. Her characters are well thought out, her plot fun. If you are a woman (or man!) of a certain age, then her premise of "invisibility" as a positive aspect of aging, mixed with a wonderful who-dun-it, will tickle you until the concluding page!

I started reading this book because it was a free ebook. I have since gone back and bought all the ebooks by this author. The book is fun and easy to read, but not so simple that I finish it too quickly. Definitely worth your time!

Funny, serious, facsincating. I didn't want to put it down. It may have been because it involved an older lady, about my age, and one wonder what she is going to do next.
I read this book some years ago in paperback, when it put it into the school library I was serving. I just got a Nook, and am looking for fun things to read cheaply on it, and was happy to see this book offered free! I will probably get the rest of the series, which is not free but not expensive either, and I wish Lorena would write some more, as I loved the LOL (little old lady) who finds herself, in a totally natural way, acting as a detective. Ivy Malone is delightful, with spunk but not to the point of stupidity--she doesn't get notes saying come alone at midnight to the graveyard and decide to do so without telling anyone, making it easy for nefarious deeds to be done to her. No, Ivy uses common sense and a caring heart and friends and prayer to guide her through her believable world. Her friend and neighbor Magnolia is a bit over the top, but I know a lady rather like her, so I can enjoy her character, too. I smiled the whole way through this one.

Finally a heroine who is a little on the older side that I can identify with. The story is funny and warm and interesting...and a great mystery. Ivy is a woman of strong faith and every one of the books in this series is wonderful. I hated to get to the end of them, and wish that Ivy lived next door to me!

I enjoy the ebook reader. I would like the e-reader to keep my place rather than default to the book list. The bookmarks are a bit confusing and out of order. But over all I am very pleased with the product.
Invisible (Ivy Malone Mystery Series # 1) Lorena McCourtney It was free ebook and a mystery. The story line is that there are people damaging the graves at an old cemetery, her long time friend dies, the friends tenant disappears - who is actually dead and Ivy decides to investigates both the mysteries going on around her while coping with the loss of her best friend.A fun fast moving story that I had to frequently remind myself that Ivy was a senior citizen during this story, because she was so much fun! I want to read the rest of this series and look forward to doing that someday.

I love the premise of the book - oldsters are "invisible" to the masses. I've seen this in action. Fun to have an older protagonist. A fun read.
