As many of us are painfully aware, Veggie Tales has been teaching principled lessons from the Bible and not the Bible. While they use yet another non-Biblical story to talk about Christmas this one seemed different. There was some narration from time to time that was historically and Biblically accurate that explained this stories relation to the Bible and even the comments about the birth of Christ were on target.
I have really been dissapointed in the direction that Veggie Tales has taken in the last several years and sincerely I hope this is a sign. I hope that this means that Veggie Tales will be getting back to it roots...back to where it started...back to the Bible.
This was a good message, and it was probably the best Christmas message Veggie Tales has done.

I don't think that I can be disappointed in any Vegi Tales Movie. They are all great ways to learn/teach good character traits to kids. This one teaches forgiveness and really helps kids believe that they could be the main charater and feel those same feelings. Loved it!

I purchased this movie for my kids after recieving Saint Nicholas Last year for Christmas and loving it! I was hoping for another Christmas story to focus on the true meaning of Christmas and while eventually the true meaning of Chrismas is given some spotlight most of the movie is absolute foolishness and so very disappointing for a mom who wants to encourage a love of God in her kids.
There are some veggie tales that are wonderful, however this one certainly is not.

Veggie Tales is popular with the little ones and The Little Drummer Boy is no exception. I showed it to 4-6 yr olds while they were allowed to play with toys. I could see they were watching it, so it did get their attention.

My first reaction after seeing this movie for the first time was disappointment; only because there previous release - "Princess and the Popstar" - was such an outstanding DVD and by far my favorite. I really anticipated Drummer Boy to be better than the Popstar.
However, my kids love this DVD and their favorite character is Bernie, the comedian. They recite his corny jokes all day and have them memorized. Another hit for the Veggie Tales franchise!

This DVD did not meet my expectations at all! The creators of Veggie Tales have lost their creativity on this one. They simply copied (name for name and almost word for word) the claymation movie of the same name. Since there is no "official"story of The Little Drummer Boy, I was hoping for something original! I did like the 8 Polish Foods of Christmas - that was original!!
