Lighthouse Trails Publishing Trapped in Hitler's Hell

Anita Dittman was just a little girl when the winds of Hitler and Nazism began to blow through Germany. Raised by her Jewish mother, she first heard about Jesus when she was just six years old. By the time she was eight, she came to believe that He was her Messiah. By the time she was 10, the war had begun. Trapped in Hitler's Hell is the true account of holocaust horror but also of God's miraculous mercy on a young girl who spent her teen-age years desperately fighting for survival yet learning to trust in the One she had come to love. You will never read another story like this one, and you will be changed forever through the life of this courageous and lovely young woman.

I couldn't put this book down once I had started and am now re-reading it to my lads as part of our schooling. They too are loving it and it has led to many fruitful discussions. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting a greater understanding of the horrors of the holocaust, the evil of Hitler and others like him, the social, political and emotional ramifications....and the amazing love of God amid seemingly hopeless odds.

Trapped in Hitlers Hell is a first-person account of a young German Jewish girls trials, tragedies and triumphs in the years before, during and after World War II a wonderful book on so many levels, appealing to every aspect of soul and spirit.First, its a cliff-hanging adventure story to rival the finest Ive ever read. I found it nearly impossible to put down. Second, its intellectually satisfying for anyone whos fascinated by modern European history, by a world that allowed Hitler to put his demonic plans into motion, and especially by what it must have been like to live through such terrible times.Third, its a love story that captures, in well-chosen and well-told vignettes, a daughters devotion to her mother.Fourth, its a story of a rock-solid belief in happy endings, a belief that may appear baseless but seems to be its own reward through unimaginable ordeals. Finally, and most importantly, its a story of complete faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in the childlike trust He wants us all to have as we labor through earthly lives that are plagued by loss. It is in fact a story that shows us precisely what it means to live for the Lord and to take Him at His word when He promises, I will never leave you nor forsake you. My only criticism is that, at 185 pages, Trapped in Hitlers Hell is too short. The author has done a magnificent job of giving readers just enough detail to feed our imaginations, without bogging us down. But as quickly as I raced through its pages, desperate to find out what happened to this daughter and her mother, I was very sad to turn the last page. I did not want this girls story to end. Come to think of it, thanks to her relationship with the Messiah Himself, her story never will end. Many thanks to Anita Dittman and her talented memoirist Jan Markell for an unforgettable book!

This book represents the power and strength of God working in our life to overcome obstacles we feel are impossible. Trusting in Jesus Christ our Lord almighty, and understanding, He will NEVER leave us or FORSAKE us. God bless Anita and her willingness to hold on through it ALL in His strength.

I lived through World War II in the US, my wife in Europe. She refuses to talk about her wartime experiences. We watch God's provision in our own lives. Anita Dittman suffered much at the hands of the Nazis. Her story reveals how her faith brought her through such suffering. Our own faith is strengthened as we see the faith of others under trial.

I originally purchased this book for my wife, but I read it and was amazed by it. I've read it three times now. Anita's story is truly amazing and inspiring. At times, this young German girl's faith made me feel so small as I read of what she endured and how she handled it. Truly an inspiring book. I give it the highest recommendation. I usually don't use the phrase, "must read book" but this is a "must read book."

This was a great book which demonstrated amazing faith in a loving God despite bleak circumstances that offered little visible hope. The faith of a young girl in the midst of unbelievable hate and cruelty, that few of us can even imagine, was incredible. I have to wonder how many of us that find ourselves trapped in such evil would be able to keep our eyes and focus on Jesus- our deliverer. This book made me sad to think how easily people are deceived all throughout history.
