Christian Large Print Get Off Your Knees and Pray, Large Print

In Get Off Your Knees and Pray, Sheila Walsh presents the subject of prayer as something we all do every day, not just in formal settings such as in church, at the dinner table or on our knees. Engaging in an ongoing conversation with God draws us closer to him. Walsh states that if we only pray when we are in need, or wounded, we will miss the bond that is formed by sharing our day-to-day thoughts, desires, and concerns with our dear friend, Jesus.

Good guide into a deeper prayer life. Not always as deep as one might hope, but nevertheless, it is useful for newer Christians.

I love this book. Walsh is down to earth, very honest and unpretentious. She addresses the most confusing and difficult factors in women's Christian and everyday lives and makes our roles and our sometimes disconnect with Our Father have more meaning and be easier to pray through. Kudos to this book.

Once again Sheila delivers a great writing that answers questions! We all have questions about prayer and many are answered (Bibically) by Sheila in this book. She is a great writer and I applaud her newest effort!

Well, Sheila has done it again with prayer. "Get Off Your Knees and Pray" is a book that will free you up and help you to understand that as a Christian, prayer is your birthright and it will strengthen your whole life. Here is one of my favorite parts from this book. "We hear people telling us that the way to God is clearer through something or someone else. That if we read this book, the author will tell us how to reach God. That if we send money to that ministry, someone will talk to God and receive and answer on our behalf. Rubbish! God talks to His people through His Word, through the counsel of Godly friends, and to our own hearts through the Holy Spirit." Skipping 3 paragraphs she goes onto say this. "I'm saying that prayer is sometimes just the beginning of the conversation. So many of the spiritual disciplines that used to be practiced by believers have, to a large extent, been lost. Meditation, solitude, and fasting are elements that are often missing from our lives. It takes an intentional choice to carve out time in our overfull schedules to listen to the voice of God in that way. But Jesus assured us that when we look past all the books and speakers and seek to commune with Him, we will know His voice." I highly recommend this book to anyone who desires to hear from God through prayer or to the one who already faithfully prays.

Wonderful, easy to read book. I personally know Sheila from being her "Shadow" at several Women of Faith Conferences and her precious personality and Christ-Centered heart comes through on each page. A fresh, new perspective on prayer - this is a "Must-Read" for every Christian who wants to have a deep, close prayer relationship with our Lord - not that we change God, but that through prayer, He changes us! Thank you Sheila!
