My small group Bible study is going through Love & Respect. Makes sense, but sometimes seems a little heavy handed on the women - unconditional respect is a hard concept to put your mind around.

My girlfriend and i just finished this book, it is awesome and so eye opening, it was a great resource as we are focused on marriage and wanting to know more about marriage. this book tells you the good and the bad, no buttering up the edges. i would recommended it to anyone, those seeking marriage or even already married!

After 33 years in my first marriage, losing that mate to death and now looking forward to a second marriage, reading this book changed the way I see being married. I'm so looking forward to developing and exercising these principles in my new marriage. What a gift!

My husband and I discovered this book as we were experiencing a very low point in our marriage of 25 years. The trials of life had really weighed us down and had created habits that were certainly not positive. It is the very first book about marriage that my husband willingly read WITH ME. It brought each of us insight and understanding- allowing us to move off the "crazy cycle" we had created. Each chapter allowed us to realize that we were not alone in our journey through marriage and to discover practical ways to bring changes to the destructive patterns that were disrupting our ability to enjoy each other and the life God had given to us.
We keep the book in a visible place in our bedroom as a reminder of what God has done to transform our lives. We have both recommended the book to numerous couples who have shared their stories of defeat and frustration. In fact, I stand amazed how many times my husband recommends this book to his clients as they come into his office and share with him about the conflicts in their marriges.

While this book had some good points, it was very much one sided. And repetitive. In my opinion, the author came across in his writing in a way that seemed to make women responsible for all problems in a marriage. I read the ENTIRE book thinking that he would eventually shift his view and discuss the responsibilities of men, but he never did. He also seems to believe that he is the ONLY one who figured out that couples want love and respect in a marriage. I would recommend the book Bringing Out the Best in Your Husband/Wife. These books give a fair view of both men and women. It doesn't come across as biased at all. And, the information is very similar.

We've been married 10 years and this book really has had an impact on how we deal with each other day to day. We were doing OK, but now we're doing great! Conflicts are less frequent and less volatile. We're enjoying each other's company more. So many positives! We highly recommend it to couples of all ages.

My husband and I have been married for 19 years. I would say we have a good marriage........however listening, learning and putting into practice the different techniques in this book it has done wonders for our marriage. In the last few weeks, our relationship has reached a new level, I call it "our second honeymoon". Physically, emotionaly and spiritually, the contents and the truth presented in this book will touch you to your very core. Even our children have noticed the difference! Love it! :-)

After 36, plus, years of marriage, I'm finally beginning to get it right after applying what I'm learning from this book! Great loving message with how to's at the end of each chapter. And there is a Men's section too! A Must for all marriages, even good ones can learn something from this book.

I ordered Love & Respect on the recommendation of an older friend & am so glad I did! It is a must-read for any married person who wants to better understand their spouse. This has been the BEST marriage book I have ever read. It has been the MOST enlightening. Every couple that plans to get married should read and it should be required reading as part of pre-marital counseling. Thank you and God bless the author for allowing God to use him and shed enlightening wisdom on creating a godly and successful marriage. Now I have to get my husband to read it!:)

This is a must read book for homes that needs God's touch, homes that need transformation. I love this book because it touches every areas of my life. It is an eye opener.
