What would cause an eighteen-year-old old senior class president and homecoming queen from Nashville, Tennessee, to disappoint her family and friends all so she could move to Uganda, where she knew only one person but didn't know any of the language? A passion to make a difference. Katie Davis left over Christmas break her senior year for a short mission trip to Uganda and her life was turned completely inside out. She found herself so moved by the people and children of Uganda that she knew her calling was to return and care for them. Katie, a charismatic and articulate young woman, is in the process of adopting thirteen children in Uganda, and she completely trusts God for daily provision for her and her family.
To further her reach into the needs of Ugandans, Katie established Amazima Ministries. The ministry matches orphaned children with sponsors worldwide. Each sponsor's $300/year provides schooling, school supplies, three hot meals a day, minor medical care, and spiritual encouragement. Today it sponsors over 400.

Katie's chronicals of her post highschool years challenge readers to think outside the college or vocation routes which seem to be a given for Americans after secondary schooling -even for Christians. I'm sure her experiences will enbolden others to allow the Holy Spirit to lead them into His purpose. It is an inspiring book!

This is such a beautiful story of a woman who has given her heart and life entirely to the Lord. She shares her life with the reader in a gentle, yet challenging manner. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone!

This book was by far the best missions experience I have ever read!! Its a must read for ever person who is unsure of what God is calling the church to do. Its so true in many aspects, Katie explains how she just felt the need to go help these children and care for them. God has demanded this from the church since its foundation.

This book is very convicting and inspiring. Katie is an awesome young woman with a deep and strong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. She has a passion for helping the poor and needy. Reading this book has awakened within me the desire to do God's will. Everything we have is from God. We can show our gratitude to God for all he has given us by giving freely of our time, possessions, talents, and money to those in need. Katie is a beautiful example of this. God promises to meet all our needs abundantly when we are willing to give, Philippians 4:18-19.

Excellant book about serving CHRIST with all there is to give. There is many good lessons remembered that are mentioned, such as not being overwhelmed by the big picture, but focusing on the one GOD has placed before you at that very moment. Then, watch how HE increases the ministry.

Having been on a short term mission trip to Africa, I can say that so much of the things Katie has written are exactly that way. My heart has been drawn to these poor but joyful people. The believers have such a strong faith. The conditions of sanitation and electricity and clean water were also so much as I experienced, although I was in a different African country. Katie has such an amazing maturity in her faith. It is so very inspiring and encouraging.
