I taught 4th grade for 7 years and used A Reason for Spelling every year. I read the opening story for the lesson to my students on Monday's while they worked on the first part of the lesson. Then we would take a pretest. The rest of the lesson was completed during the next few days. I love that the lessons reviewed the skills I was teaching my students in Language Arts and that we could remind each other of the lessons we learned in the story we heard at the beginning of the week. Those stories are often similar to the lives of my students, and they are learning tools for life.

The curriculum is easy to teach, and the students learn the words relitively easy with the different skill building pages to go along with them.

I bought this to supplement my daughter's spelling curriculum because she needed a little reinforcement. We love it! the activities are fun and engaging and she has been getting perfect scores on her tests.
