Customer Reviews for Plantation Christmas Weddings
Don’t you just love sappy love stories around Christmas! These 4 stories were such fun to read. I liked that they had real life situations for the couples to deal with. The writing on each story was excellent. There was no part in any of the stories where I was bored or not entertained. I gave this book 5/5 stars. I thought the authors did a good job of writing real to life characters. I especially liked that each story was short and ended with a plausible ending. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian romances set around Christmas time.
I would like to thank the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.
Plantation Christmas Weddings Sweet 4-in-1 collection of contemporary love stories intertwined with amazing history. Each story was unique and touching in its own way. First one –Christmas at Dunleith- made me laugh at the silliness of two soon-to-be in-laws. Even though the ending made me feel like there was something missing in between, the rest of the story – his cowboy charm and deep relationship with God amazed me and melted Marilyn’s heart into a paddle of new found love. It was very sweet. Second one –Christmas at Longwood- about a bestselling author and her childhood hero. I loved this one- went back to it a couple of times too. This particular story enchanted me with its history about the lady of Longwood plantation and her trials and deep faith. Made me reflect on my mini-trials in life and how they shattered my faith instead of strengthening it. God is with us through thin and thick it’s our choice to acknowledge His comforting presence. The third- Christmas at Brandon Hill-might not mean much to you if you are not married, but to married woman and to me particular it was very touching and very close to reality. After we marry we start putting accent on things like job and kids and we neglect our special other without even realizing it. I know my hubby reminds me of it often and to balance life and its straggles with our deep love for each other we go on dates. Just the two of us, and it feels like we are dating again. If nothing else this story will teach you to pay attention to your spouse and fight for true love. Amazing story, very funny at some very unexpected places, and a great lesson for life. The forth-Christmas at Monmouth. All these stories are great and sweet but it is not just the main characters it particularly a very sweet reliable wedding planner that make miracles at weddings. But she has a story of her own, a very sad one – she was having a dream wedding of her own and was jilted at the altar. A shame, I know. But a blessing as well for she didn’t know what is truly important in life- not a dream wedding but a dream marriage. It takes one very smart bride and a particular ex-boyfriend to open her eyes and give her true happily ever-after. Dear reader, take a ride through a historical Mississippi and let yourself enjoy the bliss of each story. They are very different with different ages and tempers – you wont be bored but you will definitley be touched while each characters life is being changed in front of you.. Enjoy!! I had a blast reading these!! Disclaimer: I got a copy of this collection from Barbour Publishing, through NetGalley, in exchange for my honest opinion.
