Explode the Code Book 8, which is for use in the elementary grades, continues to reinforce the concepts necessary for intermediate reading. The workbook goes through a series of lessons of approximately 8 pages in length. These lessons follow a consistent format designed to reinforce phonetic paterns in a sequential manner. Within each lesson children have extensive practice in matching, reading, copying, spelling, and writing sounds and words. In this more advanced level, the tasks include reading a story and then answering comprehension questions, making words by joining syllables, and building and strengthening vocabulary through crossword puzzles.
