Inter-varsity Press Knowing God with Study Guide

J. I. Packer's Knowing God has become a classic of the Christian faith. Why? While it gives us information about God with clarity and grace, it does much more---it aids us in actually knowing him, in building our relationship with him, and helps draw us closer to him in love and worship. This 20th anniversary deluxe hardcover edition of Packer's classic has new Americanized text, reader-friendly type, a new preface, and the complete study guide.

The 20th anniversary hard cover edition of Knowing God is an evangelical classic and staple. No theological or devotional library is complete without J.I. Packer's most beloved and most read volume. Written in concise and lucid Packer prose, Knowing God contains the ingredients necessary to engage a new generation of people who desire to know and love God. This edition's font is superior to the earlier (1973) editon and also includes a helpful study which will undoubtedly assist readers in engaging and applying the material. This is a Christian masterpiece with an eye toward practical application and spiritual transformation. Aquire and read this book to become a person who not only knows about God but a person who actually knows God.

My mens group uses Knowing God and we have rated it as excellent in getting to know Him better.
I personally wish it were available on Kindle where I do most of my first time reading but more importantly do all of my referencing and reviewing and store my notes and bookmarks for each book.

I've owned this book for at least several years and only got around to reading it this past month. My loss. The truths perceptively delivered by Mr. Packer in this book could have profited me these past few years. But all is not lost as my faith and understanding is strengthened for the future by the wisdom in its pages. Mr. Packer pulls no punches and does not let one off with sloppy theology or facile thinking; he meticulously lays out the truth with great persuasion. This book is not one that is read in a single sitting. It will take time and contemplation to complete it, but the journey is worth the commitment.
