My Grandparents gave an earlier printing to my parents. I "borrowed" it when I started reading to my kids. To enjoy reading to kids I need to enjoy what I am reading. The stories are well written, they follow the Bible closely without adding in a bunch, and they go through the whole Bible old and new testament. It's a book that an adult can enjoy reading to children, and children can enjoy reading to themselves. I enjoyed reading it to my kids as much as I did reading it when I was a child. I hadn't come across the book before except for the copy my Grandparents gave my parents, now my children are grown up and are starting to have children, so when I found it on Christianbook.com I bought a copy for each of them.

Have a friend who is in his 70's a fairly new believer who wanted to attend childrens church in hopes of hearing the Bible stories to help his understanding of the Bible. Gave him this book and he LOVES it. I also had it as a child. like the fact not to babyish.

I never found an acceptable children's Bible - until now! Too late for my kids, but thrilled to have this for my grandchildren. Not dumbed down or oversimplified. Very accurate stories in a format perfect for the young ones.

Without a doubt my favorite Bible Story book--written in a manner easily understood by children yet suitable for adults!! I've used it in nursing home services, children's ministry & have given many copies to new Christians/seekers who just need a quick study overview of the Bible. It will never replace reading God's word, but an adult coming to God's word for the 1st time may find the Bible a huge & daunting book. This gives an overview of God's plan & dealings with man so that the reader can know who Abraham, David, Peter, Paul etc. are--& where they fit into the overall story. Then with this knowledge they can more easily understand sermons and God's word!!

I've enjoyed these Bible stories since I was a child. Now it's great to read them to my own kids! The pictures are realistic and the stories are generally accurate.
