I love this book -- the arrangements are easy enough for a novice piano player to play (like myself) and yet still sound good. I also love the songs -- some traditional, some contemporary -- and I love the way the index is arranged so you can pick out songs in the same key to make a medley. The index also arranged by subject matter (i. e. books of the Bible, etc.) so you can match songs with a sermon.

This is a WONDERFUL book to use in introducing Praise & Worship songs to a congregation who has only been accustomed to singing hymns. It makes available "scripture" songs without leaving out some of the well known and loved hymns that are so familiar to the church. In Ephesians 5:19 we are told to "Speak to yourselves with PSALMS, HYMNS and SPIRITUAL SONGS....to sing and make music in your heart to the Lord". How beneficial it is to the church when all three of those songs are being sung unto the body and unto God....not to mention the pleasure that He would take in it....for He is so worthy of it and He so desires to "inhabit the very praises of His people" (Ps. 22).

This was purchased to supplement the traditional hymnal our congregation currently uses. Here you will find most of the better known praises choruses. One feature that I greatly appreciated was the topical index which also included suggested hymns for liturgical seasons - a big plus for us since we follow a liturgical calendar. All in all a great resource!
