I loved this book!! It is very well written. The characters are so real and well developed. There is not a dry chapter in the book-a real page turner! Can't wait to read the next one. I am looking forward to many more from Mrs. Rogers, she is an excellent story-teller!

Lucinda Bishop is a girl who has lost everything that is dear to her, and is trying to find her place in life following the death of her parents. Jake Starnes has endured too much tragedy in his young life, and doesnt believe that God loves him and can forgive his past sins. Lucys aunt, uncle, and cousins all love and support these two and encourage them to be their very best.The mystery shootings also added an element of suspense to this book, without making it a suspenseful book, if you know what I mean. Ive always loved the cowboy code of honor, and how they take care of damsels in distress, so I automatically fell in love with the cowboys who helped Lucy. I really liked this book and its characters and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Easy reading. If you enjoyed Jeanette Okes prairie romances, youll love BECOMING LUCY, book one of her Winds Across the Prairie series.A young Boston heiress finds herself alone after her parents deaths, except for her fathers brother who wants her dead so he can claim his brothers wealth, and her mothers sister who offers to take her in. The only problem is she must leave the city she loves and move to a humble ranch in remote Oklahoma. Once settled in with her aunts family and surrounded by love, Lucinda Bishop grows in confidence and faith, but danger follows her. She is in danger of losing her life to an unknown assailant, and losing her heart to the quiet ranch hand with a secret past. This is a heartwarming story of Christian love worked out through everyday situations, even hard ones. It will bless the whole family.

I've not read anything by this author previously. But I already have the next book in this series on my wishlist.What a wonderful story and marvelous characters. The combination of romance, mystery, and some excitement thrown in, kept me reading to the end.

This is a fantastic book. I rate it right up there with Lori Wick. Lori is my favorite author. BECOMING LUCY is a fantastic historical novel. The book is a page turner. I can not wait for the next one to be released. Martha Rogers you are a fantastic author and need to keep your books coming. I am looking forward to reading more of your historical fiction. Kudos to Martha Rogers for her first historical romance, Becoming Lucy! This story a great illustration of God's grace. And what a sweet love story. This historically accurate tale is loaded with action and adventure, all woven together with a lovely romantic thread. Becoming Lucy is a great start to what is sure to be a fabulous series from Martha Rogers and Strang Communications.

Martha Rogers first historical novel released Monday, January 5, the first in the four-book Winds Across the Prairie series. Her publisher, Realms, the fiction imprint of Strang Book Group, has made Becoming Lucy their first historical romance.Lucinda is forced to leave her beloved childhood home in Boston and move west to a ranch in Oklahoma Territory where her aunt and uncle live. Her parents have died and left her a fine fortune, which she can claim one year from now when she turns 18. In the meantime, she learns a new way of life, complete with a cowboy her uncle is mentoring. Rogers skillfully weaves a story of Gods great love and forgiveness and how believing Gods promises can turn bad situations for good.Lucy relies on the Lord, discards a world view that no longer works for her, and changes her name to Lucy. Glass Road Productions has dubbed the novel a smooth, easy read, and I agree. Congratulations, Martha, on the success of your first novel.
