Another splendid dictionary on the study of the New Testament. At last in one handy volume we have a book that covers all aspects of the background to the text of the New Testament, thus filling an important gap. Scholars and students alike will be blessed by this volume that offers so much information on the cradle of early Christianity. I found the articles very helpful in my Textual Criticism study. Together with the previous three volumes (DJG, DPL and DLNTD) one has the best resources on the entire New Testament to date.

InterVarsity Press has done it again! This is a must-have as a reference book, as are the the other 3 volumes in this series. Indepth, yet easy to read. These dictionaries have helped to enrich my reading and study of Scripture.

Once again, a superb reference resource. Extensive range of topics on the Judeo-Hellenistic background of the NT. This should be the foundational resource for NT background studies. The excellent bibliographies to each entry will point to great resources for further study. Highly recommended.
