Abingdon Press When Christians Get It Wrong - eBook

A growing number of young adults today have opted out of Christianity and the church because they see condemning attitudes and actions coming from those who claim to be Christian. Outsiders are increasingly seeing Christians as people who judge others, condemn people of different faiths, reject science, mix politics and faith, as well as being people who are anti-homosexual. Adam Hamilton believes that following Jesus is much more about open doors than it is with locked gateways however. In this book, Adam will show you a different way of understanding the critical issues that are keeping people from Christianity, and help you develop strategies for being a compassionate, yet committed voice for the Gospel of Christ!

This is a really good book that brings up some important points to consider as a follower of Christ. We want to reach people for the Lord, and so we must put people above the rules. Love and compassion is what it is all about. Yes, God is love and truth, but we need to remember we are fallible humans and do not always "get it right". We need to be willing to listen with our hearts and be open enough to have a respectful discussion. If you have ever been hurt or alienated by Christians or the church, this is a good place to start in your spiritual journey to healing. If you love the Lord with all your heart and desire to make a genuine difference in the lives of those who have felt rejected or hurt, this is an important book to read.
