James Banks really did a good job putting this book together. I love the daily prayers, they are written as though they came from my own heart. This book is a great encouragement to any parent or person with a loved one that they are praying for. I like that the book gives Scriptural references through out.

Review 3 for Prayers for Prodigals: 90 Days of Prayer for Your Child - eBook
I was given this book during one of my Wednesday night Women's Bible Study meetings. I was asking if they could pray for my sons salvation. After we prayed one of my sisters in Christ handed me a copy of PRAYERS FOR PRODIGALS: 90 Days of Prayers for You. This was all it took. As I started to read i realized i needed to share this book with my niece, so she too could pray for her own prodigal. So far my favorite prayer is A Place for Anger (in Gods Hands). I want to also "Thank you" for your easy to navigate website and friendly customer service when i called in to follow up on when my order would arrive... i was anxious and excited to give the book to my niece.

Review 5 for Prayers for Prodigals: 90 Days of Prayer for Your Child - eBook
This book has been such a blessing to me. It is completely rooted in Scripture and the prayers are very specific and directly applicable to a parent who wants/needs to be praying for a prodigal child. I pray the prayer each night before going to sleep and receive much peace from knowing that I have lifted my child to the Father of light and life.

Review 6 for Prayers for Prodigals: 90 Days of Prayer for Your Child - eBook
I bought this book as I felt I could not sometimes find the words to say when praying for my prodigal son. The readings at the beginning of each week are very inspirational and the prayers reflect the deep felt desires of my heart. I recommend this book to all who have prodigals they are praying for.

Review 8 for Prayers for Prodigals: 90 Days of Prayer for Your Child - eBook
“Prodigals are not limited in gender, race, age, or color. They do have one thing in common: They have left home, and they are missed.” Ruth Bell Graham
In James Banks’ book, Prayers for Prodigals, he considers prodigals a blessing because they draw you to your knees in dependence on God, teach you patience, and show you your own sin and need of forgiveness.
The weekly meditations bring hope as you read of God’s intervention in the lives of other prodigals and their families. God’s love and promises are written throughout the pages. After the meditation, there are 90 days of prayers, three months’ worth, for prodigals and their families. The author encourages you to pray with others, where two or more agree and ask, and it will be done by the Father (according to His will).
Each of the days have a specific perspective as the parent of a prodigal. The prayers are Scripturally based as well as personal. In other words, praying God’s word back to Him on behalf of a son or daughter. God understands the heart of a parent of a prodigal. After all, we are all prodigals to God, worldwide, until we come to Jesus.
Though this book is for prodigals, I find that the prayers fit many situations because of the use of Scripture, including those in need of divine help, such as husbands, wives, parents, siblings, and any loved ones. With that in mind, this is a book that can be used daily for all circumstances with just a few changes of the wording.
The conclusion at the back of the book includes a story of young William who had no time for his mother’s Christian faith. It’s a very touching example of a mother’s prayers fulfilled. E.M. Bounds is quoted, “Prayer moves the hand that moves the world.”
Special thanks to Susan Otis, Creative Resources, for sending me a review copy.

Review 10 for Prayers for Prodigals: 90 Days of Prayer for Your Child - eBook
I have purchased several copies of this book for friends who are struggling with prodigal children and/or spouses. It truly is a book of prayers. Each week begins with a true story followed by 7 days of prayers with scriptural references that touched my heart since I'm a mom with a prodigal. Just as the author, James Banks, states in intro, "When you have a prodigal child, prayer doesn't always come easily. You know you need to pray, but you don't know where to begin." Eventhough I have walked with Jesus for a long time, when my son faced going to jail I didn't know where to begin my prayers. This book did.

This author writes in such a way that you know he has truly walked the difficult, refining journey that having a prodigal child brings to the heart of a parent. Review 15 for Prayers for Prodigals: 90 Days of Prayer for Your Child - eBook
While I understand that prodigals can be either male or female, the tedium of translating the nouns and pronouns from the female gender to male (and vice versa, for those praying for daughters) caused difficulty for both my husband and me as we prayed the daily prayers for our son. Perhaps using the term "child" more often would have helped. Nevertheless, this is a valuable prayer aid for anyone whose heart has been "pierced" by a prodigal .
