I like this textbook and workbook as a review in the summer. It moves along too quickly with too little practice to use as our main math curriculum during the school year. It is inexpensive, colorful, full of pictures, and full of fun math problems.

If you are just starting your math program, Singapore Math is the way to go (in my opinion). This program breaks down math concepts so your children LEARN the math instead of memorizing it. It can take longer to get through at certain points, but I much prefer this hands-on curriculum to the standard drill, drill, drill approach.

This is our first year of homeschooling and we decided to try Singapore Math 1A. My 7-yr-old daughter really like the lessons and the colorful textbook. We purchased the 1A workbook along with the Home Instructor's guide. She finds the workbook fun with such a variety of activities it never becomes boring. The instructor's guide is full of ideas. Although I find it a bit lengthy I am able to pick and choose what works best for her. We will be purchasing the 1B textbook, workbook, and instructor's guide.

My 6 year old son was struggling with math. I bought a popular curriculum and we had nothing but frustration. My son would see a page of math facts and freeze up. A friend recommended Singapore and I switched mid year. My son loves this curriculum. He is excited about math again and understands their approach to teaching math. I have really enjoyed teaching/learning it too and highly recommend Singapore.
