The battle over homosexuality often degenerates into slogans and accusations, losing sight of individual struggles, pain, and faces. Writing with profound empathy and an evangelical Christian perspective, Schmidt addresses the debate's main points: what the Bible says about homosexuality, how homosexual behavior affects one's health, and whether gay orientation is genetically predetermined. 240 pages, softcover from InterVarsity.

This book claims to be based on empathy. Instead it supports the claim that a person "chooses" to be gay. It is important to point out that those who have spoken most loudly against homosexuality have been outed in many cases. I wonder why that discussion wasn't included in this book. --0 score
