Janine Maxwell owned one of the largest marketing companies in Canada that boasted a blue chip client list. Then on 9/11 she found herself trapped in New York City when all transportation in and out of the city stopped. She had to fight her way home to her family in Canada.

Maxwell has written a compelling read about the plight of the AIDS pandemic in sub-Sahara Africa. The story of how God wrenched her heart away from her comfortable existence, and called her and her family to serve the orphans and poor is an extraordinary tale of God's call on a life and a response of obedience. This book begs to be read in a single setting, and yet pondered at great length over time.You cannot read this without gaining enlightenment to the plight of the African continent and those who inhabit it. But beware - it will challenge you in ways that might just lead you to ponder the question - "Am I making enough of a difference with the life God gave me?"

This book makes you aware of so much that you might have not been aware of before. This book has changed my life forever and my outlook on life. It also has brought me closer to God and has influenced me to help out in Africa my entire life (with mostly Heart for Africa)! I am so thankful for Janine Maxwell and her sharing her own story. I do not imagine doing anything with my life that will take away the passion to serve Africa in me. This story is unforgetful, and you WILL want to help the problem in Africa. I want to travel around Africa and help "street kids", now. Janine has transformed me into an Africa-loving Christian (more of a Christian than before), and she is the most inspirational person that I have ever met. I LOVE her, and she is amazing! Now, I have a heart for Africa and want to know God even better, and I hope your life will be changed by this story. "It's Not Okay With Me" is a MUST read for all.

We have all seen celebrities take a stand for Africa. Here is a book that will poignantly reveal what God can do with the rest of us. Africa will become real faces to you, and, when you finish reading, you will understand God's heart for this continent. The plight of the people of Africa will hit you, but so will the hope! This book simply must be read by all Christians, and all who wish to have a heart for those beyond themsleves.
