Review 2 for Has God Spoken?: Proof of the Bible's Divine Inspiration - eBook
The book takes a look at some of the common challenges that question the divine message of the Bible. Hank looks at the four areas of questions regarding the manuscript, archeology, prophecy, and how to read the Bible faithfully and how to listen to the stories as they were intended to be listened to. He addresses some of the main, current questions from various people including scholars, scientists, and politicians and tries to respond with a solid, biblical foundation as well as common sense and logic.
The book was very interesting to read as he addressed and responded to some challenges Christians face in their lives from non-believers. He combines his broad knowledge of the Bible with science, politics, and philosophy. His arguments are, for the most part, clearly addressing some of the issues.
The first two parts of the book were excellent and outstanding, looking at the history of the manuscripts and archeological findings that support the validity of the Bible as the true word of God. He lays out his arguments and refutes the challenges in a very logical way and it is easy to follow his thoughts. The last two parts are a little harder to follow, as he continues to pick on people’s beliefs based on short quotes taken from speeches given in situations where a full testimony was out of place or where people responded to challenges from the far right. While his main thoughts are still mostly clear, it seems strongly directed against people’s beliefs that sometimes seem to read into the certain situations and do not seem to be reflecting the true beliefs the person may be holding.
In summary, the book is an interesting, up to date response to challenges of the Bible’s authority as God’s word. It is written in language that is easy to follow and engaging in current questions and issues. Overall, I would recommend this book.

Review 3 for Has God Spoken?: Proof of the Bible's Divine Inspiration - eBook
Has God Spoken? Proof of the Bible’s Divine Inspiration by Hank Hanegraaff
This book is about the different ways that a Christian can prove that God has spoken and that His Word is truly divine. Hank Hanegraaff uses several different anagrams to help keep those different evidences in our memories. This book is meant to be a tool to help Christians be able to refute various arguments against the divine inspiration of the Bible in an educated way.
While the information itself is interesting and, as far as I could tell, Biblically accurate, I found it very hard to stay interested in this book. In some cases the author really made things easy to understand, but in others he used bigger words that, those of us who have not necessarily been Biblically trained may not understand. There were several sections that I had to re-read just to be able to understand what he was saying. I kept a dictionary nearby to look up words that I wasn’t completely certain of the meanings. I would recommend this book as a reference, but if you’re looking for a quick read that you can use instantly to have an educated conversation, this isn’t the book. However, I do see the value of this book, and I will definitely be keeping it nearby and using it as a guide.

Review 4 for Has God Spoken?: Proof of the Bible's Divine Inspiration - eBook
(This review is for the hardcover edition) I have an interest in history and archaeology of ancient biblical times and that knowledge gives us a better understanding when reading the bible. The summary of Hank Hanegraaff’s book Has God Spoken states it will demonstrate the bible is divinely inspired through the use of archaeology, manuscript and prophecy. It is for this reason I decided to review it. Mr. Hanegraff divided this book into four sections: 1)Manuscripts, 2) Archeologists, 3) Prophetic and 4) Scriptural. Which he gives an acronym of M.A.P.S. Each of the sections are further divided and spelled with acronyms for each. I won’t go into details to save space. I also see flipping through the book that each of the pages on the four sections have a symbol in gray printed on the right side margin similar to a printed thumb index. This will make it easy to go directly to one of the four main sections quickly. Nice touch. I find the content very interesting and with lots of facts. I look forward to re-read the book and compare the facts and the biblical references. This book is an excellent source for apologetic discussions. If you like biblical history or archaeology, you will find this book to be very interesting. Enjoy! Review 5 for Has God Spoken?: Proof of the Bible's Divine Inspiration - eBook
Has God Spoken?: Proof of the Bible's Divine Inspiration By: Hank Hanegraaff This book is a work of apologetics and read as such, filled with stories of those opposed to God and the argument that God exists. The book is written on a highly intellectual realm, and reads as a seminary text. Some of the ideas behind the book such as the use of acronyms are helpful in trying to obtain the information (MAPS – manuscript, archaeological, prophecy, scriptural synergy). True to form with many apologists, the book is geared to the likes of upper level college and professor discussions. I found that the book is not to be taken lightly and would not recommend it to just anyone. There are several stories through the book that I found myself unfamiliar with, so I felt lost and confused. I believe that as time goes on, I will gain from the book. I think that fans of Ravi Zacharias would enjoy the flow and feel of the book. I believe God has spoken, but he does not use a language that is above the everyday person. I understand that most apologists battle college professors, but it is the average person that has more day to day contact with unbelievers. Review 6 for Has God Spoken?: Proof of the Bible's Divine Inspiration - eBook
Review for “Has God Spoken? Proof of the Bible’s Divine Inspiration” by Hank Hanegraaff, published by Thomas Nelson
It was a great privilege extended to me by the folks at Thomas Nelson, Book Sneeze, to receive this book and to review it.
I should simply start off by emphatically saying that I loved this book. I though Hanegraaff did a great job of presenting the information in an enjoyable manner but also in a well organized method.
Not only did the style of writing and organization of the book make it an interesting read but it is also very teachable. It would work well for a small group; large group; or individual study.
The Bible Answer Man has presented the various proofs by utilizing acrostics. The overall acrostic for the book is the word “M-A-P-S.” The four letters represent the four parts of the book “Manuscripts, Archaeology, Prophetic, and Scripture.” Each of these words has its own acrostic as he systematically presents evidence to show the Bible really is God’s spoken Word and refutes critics for their arguments against the Bible being God’s spoken Word.
One other thing Hanegraaff did that I appreciated was that he provided some of the arguments from modern day skeptics. The list of these modern day skeptics includes popular author Richard Dawkins; and Bart Ehrman, distinguished professor of religious studies at the prestigious University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Hanegraaff writes that Ehrman appears to be “peculiarly proud of causing the faith of many of his students to waver.”
As this book takes you through a variety of proofs….all working together…..you will not only find your own faith being strengthened but you will also find that you will be able to help those who are asking questions and faltering in their own faith.
This is the first book written by Hank Hanegraaff that I’ve read. He has written many. This book, “Has God Spoken?” is the final book in a trilogy written by Hanegraaff. The first two books were: “The Farce of Evolution” and “Resurrection.” I think after reading this book, I would most certainly enjoy and benefit from reading the first two books of this trilogy.

Review 7 for Has God Spoken?: Proof of the Bible's Divine Inspiration - eBook
This book reads like a college text-book. Long, detailed, a bit slanted toward the author's own beliefs and the wording seems to be aimed at professors not mere students.
The book is rich with information to prove the validity of the Bible, uses multiple acronyms to remember the major and minor points that he brings out, and has over sixty pages of notes and selected bibliography all in small print.
I was very disappointed to find that he has taken something that could be so wonderfully useful to so many Christians and seemed to focus his writing instead on refuting college professors directly rather than writing to the average Christian who runs into the arguments of those professors.
Much of what Mr. Hanegraaff brings up is great, gems worth sharing with others, even though he lets his personal views take over in some places. If he had written for the average reader, then any Christian could have enjoyed the gems he had to share rather than having to dig them out of the text themselves or missing them altogether in his doctorate type writing style.
I have very mixed feelings about recommending this book and probably won't unless it is to someone who is a strong academic type of reader who is used to reading post-graduate theses.
The publisher sent me this book for free in exchange for my honest review.

Review 8 for Has God Spoken?: Proof of the Bible's Divine Inspiration - eBook
Has God Spoken? (Proof of the Bible’s Divine Inspiration) Hank Hanegraaff This is the third book in a trilogy written by Mr. Hank Hanegraaff a.k.a. The Bible Answer Man. This book was written to give the reader a better understanding of the divine inspiration of the Bible. While I am not a seminary educated believer in our Lord I found this book to be very interesting and educating. Some parts of the book were a little hard to understand but a little research never hurt anyone. Although I feel that this was an interesting read, I would recommend that the reader have a thirst and a want to learn more. This book is filled with lots of names, places and scripture references that a lay person might not know. For someone who loves to learn and study this would not be a problem. One other thing that was an added bonus was an insert that describes the acronym “M.A.P.S.”. The book is split in to five parts. Each part takes a letter from the acronym and digs deeper into the meaning of each letter. In closing, this book gave me a deeper understanding into the inspiration of the Bible. Further proving that the Bible is “God Breathed” (2Tim 3:16). I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who has a need or want to learn more about the Bible and where it came from. You might have to do a little homework and research a little more, but being a Disciple means becoming a lifelong learner. We all should have an attitude to want to learn all that we can so we can be ready to give the reason for why we believe. Review 9 for Has God Spoken?: Proof of the Bible's Divine Inspiration - eBook
In the beginning, God created all things by His Word. Two chapters later, it is the authenticity, integrity, and meaning of God’s Word that is called into question by Satan. And to this day, unbelievers of every kind approach the Scriptures in the same way. Popular pseudo-intellectual unbelievers such as Bart D. Ehrman, Richard Dawkins, and Christopher Hitchens have aggressively attacked the Word of God, attempting to upset the faith of many by asking: Has God really said? How are Christians to respond to the claims of these popular unbelievers, as well as unbelieving friends and family members?
Hank Hanegraaff’s newest offering Has God Spoken? seeks to provide Christians of every stripe with a thorough yet readable and user-friendly defense of the authenticity, integrity, and meaning of God’s Word. Hanegraaff’s book answers questions and criticisms raised against the Divine inspiration of the Bible with evidence from the manuscript data (showing the overall textual purity of the Bible), evidence from archeology (which is both instructed by Scripture and corroborative of Scriptural historical claims), and evidence from fulfilled prophecies. By beginning first with the integrity of the manuscripts then moving on to the historical reliability of the accounts of Scripture, he then lays the Gospel before the reader by presenting Christ as the one to fulfill all prophecies concerning Himself. Which is the main point of all the Scriptures (cf. John 5:39).
Thus, Hanegraaff’s book sets out to not merely provide a dry point-by-point refutation of opponents of the Word of God, but also seeks to confirm the faithful in their faith and invite the lost to “come and see” this Jesus, the Word of God, who is the subject of these authentic, compositionally integral, and very meaningful documents which Christians accept as the Word of God. And it does this very well. Hanegraaff’s book is not for the specialist per se; therefore, it may not appeal to those who are well versed in the topics aforementioned. However, for Christians who are neither archeologists, nor pastors, nor professors, etc, this book is an excellent resource for personal instruction, edification, and evangelism.

Review 10 for Has God Spoken?: Proof of the Bible's Divine Inspiration - eBook
I had such high hopes for this book. The title sounds so promising. Especially the subtitle - "Proof of the Bible's Divine Inspiration". I was excited to read it and find out what the proof was. Instead, I found the book to be SAD. It is a S upercilious A rrogant D iatribe
If you like acronyms, then this is the book for you. It has 9 acronyms and subacronyms in which Hank gives his "proof of the Bible's divine inspiration." He also rants against Bart Ehrman, President Obama, Bill Maher, Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, and others. Even when I agree with some of Hank's statements, I am appalled at how rude, unkind and judgemental his language is. When he attacks the people that he disagrees with, he also attacks their beliefs, most of which are shared by many other people. Hank is basically calling anyone who disagrees with his understanding of scripture "benighted" (p. 151) - which means " in a state of pitiful or contemptible intellectual or moral ignorance, typically owing to a lack of opportunity." Basically, if we don't see things the way he does, we are stupid and wrong and possibly heretically dangerous.
Hank especially hates Ehrman whom he accuses of "spiritual terrorism", misinterpretation, attempting to "make the language of scripture"walk on all fours" ", (I still have no idea what that is supposed to mean), setting up a "rigged game", "regurgitated sophistry, selling sensationalism and an unhealthy dose of Scriptortutre" and a lot more.
I did learn a few new things from Hank's book that I had not heard before that I found interesting, such as his deliniation between "predictive prophesy" and "typelogical prophesy". I understood the difference but had not seen them defined so nicely. I wish that Hank had explained where his understandings of prophesy and typology came from rather than just saying that "the student of Scripture well knows" these things. Hank documents thouroughly the words of those who he sees as his opposors which include an episode of the TV show "West Wing", but he does not document all of his Biblical "facts", rather saying that anyone who is a Biblical scholar should just know these things - intimating that if we don't just know that stuff, we are uneducated and stupid.
I liked Hank's MEALS acronym, but for the most part, I was disappointed by Hank's openly hostile attitude towards Bart Ehrman and anyone else who has views about the Bible that differ from his own views.

My review of Has God Spoken by Hank Hanegraaff...for www.booksneeze.com a divison of Thomas Nelson. Compelling evidence that the Bible is God's Holy Word. Using the memorable acronym MAPS, radio host and Bible scholar Hank Hanegraaff masterfully reveals four proofs that confirm the divine origin of the Bible. M represents the strength of the manuscript itself as many actual fragments have been locatedA stands for the archaeological proofs that have been uncoveredP is for the prophecy that has accurately predicted eventsS represents the scriptural synergy found in the unity, consistency, and harmony of the sixty-six books These clearly presented proofs provide powerful indicators that confirm the trustworthiness and divine nature of Scripture, that God has indeed spoken, and that the Bible is the reliable repository of His words. I found the MAPS study method to be a valuable tool and I now use it as one of my primary methods of bible study when i crack open the word. The bottom line though, is if you believe in God you don't even need proof in the Bible...you just take 2 Timothy 3:16 at face value and go about with your business, through trust and faith...Keep on believing

Hank is a master researcher and his third book in his apologetics series Has God Spoken does not disappoint. Hank tries (and succeeds) to prove that the Bible comes from a divine and not mortal author. By delving into how the books of the bible were passed down, and archeological finds as well as the future predictions within its text; Hank shows that no one person (or group of like-minded deceivers) could have created such a perfectly accurate historical and religious text as the Bible. As an example, Hank holds that the use of prophesy in the Bible proves the authenticity of God’s hand in the Bibles creation. Whether it is predictive prophesy that Daniel used to predict the future rulers of the earth or typological prophesy which shows God’s subtle use of allegories; the bible has consistently and accurately been able to predict future events. My favorite topic on the use of prophesy is when Hank catalogs all the prophesies that spoke about the Savior, and how each one was fulfilled in Jesus of Nazareth. As Hank himself attests “the prophecies concerning him are simply so precise that the probabilities of someone fulfilling them by chance do not exist”. If any of these prophesies was not satisfied in Jesus then he could not have been the Messiah. Most of these prophesies (like birthplace) could not have been faked. Whether one believes Hanks hypothesis or not this book will get you thinking about the nature of the Bible and how it has survived all these years unaltered and still the most critical text in the Christian faith.

Has God Spoken? Proof of the Bible's divine Inspiration By: Hank Hanegraaff
This book was written so that if anyone ever had doubts about God Speaking. His or Her doubts would end here. The Author uses the following to reveal the fact that yes God has indeed spoken:
M = Manuscript A = Archarologist's P = Prophetic S = Scriptural
One thing is for sure the author spent a lot of time in writing this book which is a reflection of how serious He takes God's Written Word "THE BIBLE" . To say that it took years to write this would be an understatment.
However, If you are looking for an easy read this is not. There were many times that I had to use "Chronological Guide To the Bible" along with this book so that I could understand.
It would make a great gift for Pastor Appreciation's Day
In compliance with the Federal Trade Commission I recevied the Book from Book Sneeze a Division of Thomas Nelson Publishing Company.

Have you ever wondered whether or not God REALLY spoke the Bible into being? What types are proofs are there? Can it really be proven? What about all the evidence to the contrary? Using the acronym M-A-P-S in his book Has God Spoken?, Mr. Hanegraaff (also known as the Bible Answer Man) puts forth massive amounts of evidence that yes, God really did speak to us through the Bible.
Here's a sneak peek: the M in M-A-P-S stands for Manuscript C-O-P-I-E-S, each letter broken down into sub chapters such as Copyist Practices, Oral Culture, Papyrus and Parchment, Internal Evidence, External Evidence and Science of Textual Criticism. Mr. Hanegraaff goes in depth in all areas, for instance citing under External Evidence the works of Flavius Josephus (the Jewish history), Cornelius Tacitus (born twelve or so years after Christ's death and known as the "greatest historian of the ancient Roman Empire") and Gaius Suetonius Tranquillus (chief secretary to the Emperor Hadrian, who covered Roman history) to name a few. All of the evidence presented in the book is fascinating proof of the divine inspiration of the Bible.
I accepted Christ as a young child and have never had the problem of accepting as fact that God is real, that He is the author of the Bible. However, it is so much fun and so very interesting to sit and read a book such as this and find evidences that go beyond blind faith. If you are a Christian, you will enjoy the evidence presented. If you are not a Christian and you have a chance to read this book, Mr. Hanegraaff's evidence just might convince you to change your mind! Why not give it a shot?
This is definitely another book I will keep in my personal library for future reference and also for loaning to friends and family.

Hank Hanegraaff, the host of the Bible Answer Man, quickly begins to point out flaws of the Quran and Mormon books in the introduction and why the Bible is the only source of knowing that God has spoken. Hank organized the book into four sections, Manuscript’s, Archaeologist’s, Prophecies and Scriptural.
I do appreciate Hanks’ knowledge of being able to put this together, however, this is not a book for those who are looking for an easy read. With the picture of the scroll on the cover should give it away that this will be theological and demands your attention to grasp what is being said. Hank offers very detailed explanation for why the Bible is authentic and the only historical source of God’s true word. You may wonder why my rating of this book is lower than what my review would show. I have recently discovered that Hank believes that the Book Heaven is for Real does not match what the Bible says. This concerns me with Hank and his actual understanding of the Bible and the experience that people have with near death experiences. Though he may be the Bible Answer Man, doesn’t mean Hank has everything figured out, though I do respect his integrity to bring forth the Gospel.

The Bible Answer Man Delivers Memorable Proofs for the Divine Inspiration of the Bible
The Bible is under siege with many fundamentalist on the right, like professor Bart Ehrman of the University of North Carolina of Chapel Hill, and even President Barack Obama, without hesitation take pot shots at the Good Book, making fallacious arguments against the inerrancy of the text. Hank Hanegraaff, president of the Christian Research Institute and host of the Bible Answer Man radio broadcast, responds to these assertions in his latest book Has God Spoken? Proof of the Bible’s Divine Inspiration.
Has God Spoken? is an invaluable resource on demonstrating that the Bible is divine rather than human in origin. In this book, Hank explores the manuscript evidence, which demonstrates that we can say with confidence that the text of the Scripture was faithfully transmitted to us. What we have now is an accurate and faithful reproduction of what was written by the biblical writers.
The way archeology corroborates the peoples, places, and things mentioned in the biblical narrative is also explored in Has God Spoken. Hank highlights key archeological discovers to demonstrate that the Bible is not just a book of fairy tales; rather, it faithfully narrates what had happened in the history of the ancients.
Predictive prophecy is likewise evidence that the Bible is divine rather than human in origin. One of the highlights of the prophecy section of Has God Spoken is Hank’s take on the success of nations and abomination of desolations in the Book of Daniel. The Bible Answer Man makes a well reasoned case that God had revealed to Daniel in the 6th century BC things concerning the grand scheme of history that could not have been known otherwise. The Book of Daniel essentially predicted the rise and fall of four great empires (Babylon, Media, Persia, and Greece), the abomination of desolations in the second temple witnessed by the Jewish people during the reign of Antiochus IV Epiphanes, and a glimpse of the coming first century Christ. Hank also demonstrates how the Old Testament points forward to Jesus Christ in both typological and predictive prophecy.
All the facts demonstrating the Bible is divine rather than human in origin are complimented in the final section on Scriptural L-I-G-H-T-S, which offers helpful principles on biblical interpretation. God has indeed spoken; yet, the people need also to learn to read the Bible for all its worth so that they can understand what God has said.
The most helpful element of Hank’s new book is the abovementioned points follow the easy to remember acronym MAPS, which stands for Manuscript COPIES (Copyist Practices; Oral Culture; Papyrus and Parchment; Internal Evidence; External Evidence; Science of Textual Criticism), Archeologist S-P-A-D-E (Steles and Stones; Pools and Fools; Assyrian Archaeology; Dead Sea Scrolls; Epic of Gilgamesh), Prophetic S-T-A-R-S (Succession of Nations; Typological Prophecy; Abomination of Desolation; Resurrection; Superstar ABCs), and Scriptural L-I-G-H-T-S (Literal Principle; Illumination Principle; Grammatical Principle; Historical Principle; Typology Principle; Synergy Principle).
Has God Spoken is certainly a book worth a read and something to be kept as a handbook and tool for reading and understanding God’s Word.

Review 18 for Has God Spoken?: Proof of the Bible's Divine Inspiration - eBook
I was perhaps slightly hesitant to even select this latest work by author and radio host Hank Hanegraaff due to my forays into some of his previous works. His radio program, Bible Answer Man is apparently quite popular and he does have a rather devoted group of followers. Maybe it is the whole idea of someone even daring to call themselves the Bible Answer Man that was a turn off for me. Regardless of my past reservations with Hanegraaff, I decided to give his latest book a read.
As noted by others who have reviewed this book in recent weeks, Hanegraaff is not for those who do not have a desire to expand their vocabulary. With that said, this book is after all an apologetical work so I was not bothered by the somewhat advanced level of vernacular used throughout the book. Hanegraaff describes this book as the “culmination of my life goal to provide seekers, skeptics, and saints alike with a memorable means by which to internalize answers to the three great apologetic issues of this or any other generation.” He uses the acronym “M-A-P-S” as a means by which to interact with various ways to “demonstrate that the Bible is divine as opposed to merely human in nature.” Subsumed within that acronym are sub-acronyms by which Hanegraaff further explores apologetical methodologies.
This book was quite fascinating and well worth the read. For those who desire a full on scholarly approach to the topic of the Bible’s historical, linguistic, archaeological, and literary veracity just to name a few, I highly recommend this book. There are certainly areas many will disagree with Hanegraaff on such as his eschatological viewpoints for example. Additionally, there are times when he perhaps seems to be overly interested with interacting with author Bart Ehrman and his attacks on the Bible. I for one was pleased to see someone consistently break down Erhman’s arguments thus showing them to be invalid, biased, and argumentative at best. For being under 300 pages of actual reading material, this book is packed full of valuable information. This book is not just for the seasoned apologist; conversely, it is accessible to all levels of understanding. While some aspects of the book may be more challenging to comprehend for the more entry level apologist or a new believer, as a whole, it is not so scholarly as to be of no real practical use.
Has God Spoken is well researched with plenty of endnotes for further study. Hanegraaff analyzes his topic thoroughly leaving very few stones unturned. Those who choose to read this book will find their knowledge of the history behind the writing of the Bible greatly increased.
Furthermore, their ability to interact with those, especially in the blogosphere, who perpetually attempt to undermine the veracity of Scripture, will be strengthened as a result of reading this book. Those two elements alone make this a worthwhile book to read. I would also recommend as companions to Hanegraaff’s Has God Spoken the following books: (1) Origin of the Bible by F. F. Bruce and (2) Jesus and the Eyewitnesses by Richard Bauckham. Together with Has God Spoken, these materials will enable to reader to have a broader appreciation for and understanding of the historical development, facticity, synergistic beauty, and inerrancy of God’s word. Such issues were the aim of Hanegraaff’s effort in writing this book and to that end he was highly successful.

Review 19 for Has God Spoken?: Proof of the Bible's Divine Inspiration - eBook
Has God Spoken is typical Hank Hanegraaff. If you listen to the Bible Answer Man you'll know exactly what to expect. No real curve balls here. Although this is a little more in depth than Hank Hanegraaff usually goes and is therefore one of his better books it still has the same general drawbacks as his other books. First, Hank Hanegraaff is an amateur. He has never received any kind of seminary or pastoral or Christian education of any kind and it always seems to come through. He is also kind of a broken record. He constantly repeats the same things over and over so if your very familiar with him you'll just keep saying "this again" throughout. What's more, he is to wrapped up in his acronyms. Acronyms are good because they help people remember except that most of the ones in this book seem a little forced. I'll also deduct points for peripheral theology (which hecan never seem to get past) in an apologetics book. The book itself was a pretty average level read. If you like the scholarly apologetics (which tend to be better and more effective) you'll be disappointed. Although it has these drawbacks it was still overall a good book. If I was to recommend one book on apologetics it wouldn't be this one but I probably wouldn't discourage people from reading it.
