Christmas stories written by my favourite author Max Lucado is a heartwarming book filled with touching yet interesting fictional stories. The stories of course revolves around the Christmas festive and mood.
The fictions are not the traditional stories that meet your expectations about salvation in this season of great love and grace. It over-exceeds expectations as the stories integrate elements of surprises and miracles and show how God is never boring. The way He communicates with us and shows His abundant love for us are limitless. One of the stories that strike me the most is the one about the special candle in which any prayer requests will be answered if it is made over that particular candle. Part of the stories show how interesting God is in revealing Himself to us, mere humans. Yet, at the same time, the twist of the story show how there need not be any objects or symbols for God's love to be present. As long as we have faith in Christ and God's love and grace, things work out for the best somehow.
Last but not least, I need to understand that it is not the focus on my faith but on Jesus Christ's faith and to rest in it. I love the book in that it focuses on miracles that abound during this season and how nothing is impossible with God and He wants the best for us in ALL areas.

Hermie and Friends is the first Max Lucado's book that i've ever read. So when Nelson Publishing, through booksneeze introduce me to another fiction book by him, I am thrilled.
Christmas Stories.. The title said it all..!
Basically it's like a collection of short stories he wrote, with a general theme, christmas.
He wrote stories about men, women, children, and even angels who are affected with Christ's birth.
I would say how he describe Christ's birth from Angel Gabriel's view is interesting.
Certainly this book is good for the season, very heart-warming, and it will be fun to read it with family.
It kinda remind me of reading chicken soup for the souls though.. I may going to read that book now :p

Christmas Stories by Max Lucado is the most recent ebook that I’ve received from Thomas Nelson for reviewing.
It’s a fairly short book of short stories by Max, and as you could probably guess by that title, they relate to Christmas. Most (or maybe even all) of them are listed as being taken from other books by Max, and are basically being grouped together in this themed book instead of being spread across many books.
The book actually has two main sections. The first one is pretty much exactly what I expected from a fiction book by Max. They are stories of different people in different places and eras, all set around Christmas. They are sweet, maybe even a bit sappy at times if you don’t think too much about it to notice exactly how many involve dead parents, runaway or pregnant rebellious teens, or both.
The second part of the book changes from being stories about people to being more biblical focused. Some of them are a lot more like I would expect from one of Max’s non-fiction books... going into the origins of things, or offering a different view of Joseph or from the perspective of the angels. He does go a bit more into fiction in some parts of this section too though, such as an imagined battle between angels and demons trying to prevent baby Jesus from being born.
It’s a nice Christmas themed read... nothing too heavy... and pretty much just what you’d expect it to be if you are familiar with Max’s writing both in fiction and non-fiction.

Truly a book full of heartwarming stories presented in a style that only Max Lucado can do. These stories will touch your soul and bring tears to your eyes as you snuggle up to get lost in faraway places in both past and present.
Of all the stories, my favorite has to be "The Answer is Yes". It's a story about a man and his daughter and how love will always be able to forgive - no matter how big the mistake. Make sure to have tissues on hand, as this one made me cry.
I also enjoyed how Max brought to life Joseph and his role in the life of Jesus. Joseph is not discussed much in the Bible, but this truly made me step back and consider how it must have been for Joseph and how it affected his life.
One other great piece worth mentioning is a short article on Santa Claus. This look at the man/saint is a fantastic piece that needs to be read by all!
Although all the stories and outtakes are good, the above three are my favorites. This book is certainly a must to everyone's library - and not just for Christmas!
I received this book through the Booksneeze program. I was not required to write a positive review, but instead, one that gives my honest opinion.

A new approach to the greatest story ever told. It gave me a new appreciation for the tremendous "gift" of God becoming human.

I just finished reading the book "Christmas Stories" by Max Lucado. It is a collection of heartwarming stories about the real meaning of Christmas- the birth of Jesus Christ. The stories all come from previous works of Max Lucado's and have been combined to create this book.
While it was not one of Max Lucado's best books, it is a good book for getting into the Christmas spirit. I originally read it hoping to find something good to read during Advent. There are a few stories that I plan to share with my children this Advent but it did not deliver like I expected.
If you are an avid Max Lucado reader, you have already read the stories that are included in this book. Overall I would consider this a good gift but not something I would suggest for a personal purchase.

CHRISTMAS STORIES
By Max Lucado
A compilation of Christmas stories by Max Lucado celebrating the joy and wonder of the season. Some titles have been previously published, but are well worth another read.
The Christmas Candle is a story of faith, forgiveness, and miracles. When an accident happens who will receive the lost candle that will make their needed miracle come true?
The Christmas Child is a story of family and forgiveness. When an accident takes a life and changes two others will a family torn apart ever come together?
The Answer is Yes is a story of love, rebellion, and forgiveness. It is an allegory of our Heavenly Father’s love of us and the forgiveness He offers to us His rebellious children.
The North Pole or the Manger? Ponders the man behind the myth of Santa Clause and the God who became Man. Comparing Jesus with Santa we see where we should seek eternal gifts.
Gabriel’s Question ponders the mode of Jesus’ coming. A peasant girl? A stable? For the Son of God?
The Night in the Stable dwells on Joseph and his feelings on the night of Jesus’ birth.
No Room in the Inn
Jacob’s Gift is a giving up of one’s dreams by giving what you have to one who is without, a story of sacrifice.
An Angel’s Story is story about the conflict to stop Jesus’ coming birth. Lucifer is shown as a conniver who will stop at nothing to thwart God’s plan for redemption, including a battle in Heaven and on Earth for the soul of humanity.
Tiny Mouth, Tiny Feet is Mary’s prayer for her newborn son who will soon be her Savior and King.
Includes an excerpt of GOD CAME NEAR
