Sheila Wray Gregoire has written a book that is sure to bless women from all walks of life! Candidly written, full of humour, and thoroughly practical, "The Good Girl's Guide to Great Sex" is a welcome addition to the world of literature dealing with sex, love, and marriage. There are many things to appreciate about this book, from the Biblical basis that the advice and guidance is given from, to the statistics that have been woven into the pages. An especially neat addition to the book is the numerous places in the book where there are inserts entitled "A Good Girl Speaks", where regular women share their own experiences or challenges or successes. Women are likely to especially relate to what they have to say, and their voices have been seamlessly woven into the sections of the book. Gregoire offers a tremendous amount of truth in the pages of this guide, debunking many myths, and helping women come to understand how God has created their man to be a sexual being. My wife appreciated that Gregoire openly deals with many challenges woman can have in their sexual relationships, while encouraging them to view sex as a gift and to experience freedom in that relationship.
If you are seeking to have a God-honouring sex life within your marriage, then definitely plan on picking up a copy of this book! And while you're add it, get a couple for your friends as well. They will no doubt thank you. I strongly recommend this book for married women or those preparing for marriage. 4 out of 5 stars.

I read this book before I got married. I was so impressed with it that I immediately ordered a copy for my Best Friend who is soon to be married. It answers all the pre-sex questions that I was afraid to ask (I was a virgin before I got married) without making it scary or gross.

The media, from movies to magazines, would have us believe that bad girls have all of the fun, but surveys say that the women who are most likely to enjoy sex are married and religious. In “The Good Girl’s Guide to Great Sex”, Sheila Wray Gregoire answers the most intimate and embarrassing questions.
Whether you are newly engaged, a newlywed or have been married for a while, you need to read this book. Chances are there is something you’re mother was too embarrassed to tell you about sex. No matter how long you’ve been married, I’d just about guarantee Gregoire will tell you something you didn’t know.
I appreciate Gregoire’s bravery and boldness in talking about a subject that is avoided in Christian circles. Her book is a much needed resource for brides-to-be and a great bridal shower gift. If you are looking for something that will help your marriage and your sex life, invest in “The Good Girl’s Guide to Great Sex”. Your husband will be glad you did.

I was looking for a good christian book on sex for a friend of mine getting married in the next few weeks. I didn't really know were to look...so after reading the reviews on this one I decided to take the plung. I got two copies so I could read it before I gave it to my friend, just in case. I have to say that this is one of the best books on sex I have read. it is presented in a vary honest down to earth manner, and God is the center of everything. I WILL be getting this book for all my friends as they get engaged and married. And it would be vary good for anyone struggling in any manner of ways with in there marriage.

I have been married for 2 and a half years. I have been struggling with sex since I got married. This book was awesome at encouraging me to think about ways to deal with my issues and I found it very easy to bring aspects up with my husband.
I strongly recommend this book if you are in the same boat - even if you are unsure about this book, order it, it will be helpful!

In 1993, when I got engaged, a friend gave me a copy of the 1973 edition of The Act of Marriage, a Christian classic of its kind. It was hopelessly outdated even then, so I was intrigued when I came across this title, A Good Girl’s Guide to Great Sex, to see if it was any more relevant.
It is.
The author is very open about the ups and downs of her own relationship, and these stories are enhanced by quotes from some of the hundreds of women (and men) she surveyed as part of her research. Her studies refute the common secular wisdom that practice with as many people as possible makes perfect. Her research showed that those who were least sexually active before marriage had the greatest satisfaction with their love lives.
Despite the title, A Good Girl’s Guide to Great Sex is not all about positions and moves (after all, the biology hasn’t changed). It is more about sex as a vital component of the marriage relationship. She emphasises the importance of our relationship with our spouse, spending time together and sharing hobbies. She also says “The key to a passionate marriage is not to be as sexually adventurous as possible, but to be as passionate about God as possible”.
What makes this book different, at least for me, is that it is real. The area where this struck me most forcibly was in the discussion around pornography. This wasn’t even mentioned in The Act of Marriage (which seemed to assume that the wedding night was the first time a good Christian boy would ever see a naked woman). But a changing world and the omnipresence of the internet means that this is now a real issue in many marriages.
If A Good Girl’s Guide to Great Sex was lacking in any area, it was in the struggle to maintain a healthy marriage when the children are young (although she has addressed this in her earlier books). I was also a little confused by how she could recommend sexual role-play games when she had spoken so strongly against the fantasy element of pornography (the difference between a fantasy and a role-play is too subtle for me). Otherwise, I think this is an excellent resource for engaged or newly-married couples, and for those who have (ahem) been married for a little longer.

This is an amazing resource for engaged and married couples. From everything to specifics of how God designed sex to physically work to how He designed sex to spiritually bond. It is all here in this wonderful book. In any book that talks about marriage and sex, there has to be an element of real experience within the author's own life and marriage. Sheila is very real and honest about the struggles and the joys of overcoming those struggles with her husband. Her advice and wisdom is not just clinical, it is practical and realistic.
Sheila spends a great amount of time talking about the differences between men and women where sex is concerned. She does this to paint a beautiful picture of how God designed us differently so that sex would be a give and take for husband and wife. We often get stuck in our own selfishness where sex and intimacy is concerned. Sheila challenges wives to step up to the plate and be the wife that God wants them to be. Even when it is hard. Your marriage and your husband will be blessed because of it.
Sheila also talks about many hot topics in her new book. Is oral sex ok? What about role play? The topics that many women want to know about from a biblical standpoint as well as a practical and bonding standpoint.
There is a depth to Sheila's book that is so refreshing and a focus on God's design for marriage, that I feel many marriage and sex books are missing. This is a must read for all wives out there. It will be one of our top recommended resources for our marriage ministry!
