It's the holiday season and all the roomates are a little blue: Megan's dealing with a ridiculous boss, and now her mom is leaving her alone for Christmas. Lelani can't afford to fly home and isn't sure she'd be welcomed. Anna's old boyfriend has sailed back into her life, just when she's met the for-real "nice guy" she's keeping away from her crazy Latino family. And Kendall's got a crush on a famous actor, who might be the answer to her money woes--if she could only convince him she's the love of his life. Thank goodness God's around to listen!

I was very disappointed with this book - especially after being told the author is popular with Christian teens. I don't believe it should be classified as Christian fiction. The professed Christians are luke-warm at best, the Catholic mother is a liar and the non-believers indulge in very destructive behaviors that I don't care to read about. If there is a Godly message in this book I missed it!

Let Them eat Fruitcake was a nice read with interesting characters. Each character had thier own faults and behaviors that make them unique, but refreshing. Megan is a Christian living with three non-believers. Sometimes she is not sure why she is living their. Lelani has a few secrets that only her boyfriend Gil knows, and to her it makes her feel like she is not able to fulfill her dreams of being a doctor. Anna is Gil's sister and right when she thought she had it all together her old boyfriends comes in and mess things up to to mention her mother uses a illness to get what she wants from her. Kendall, is the really messed up and miss led one of the bunc. She mets a actor and all of a sudden she thinks all her dreams could come true but first she must convince him to fall for her. She lies and munipulates everyone to try and get things to go her way, but they soon backfire. Each of them are not real happy about Christmas coming up so they decide to have a Christmas party since none of them have a place to go. When life isn't going they way you want it too, well LET THEM EAT FRUITCAKE.Fun delightful characters stuck in the mist of holdiay madness makes Melody Carlson's Let Them Eat Fruitcake a nice holiday book.
