This was a perfect birthday gift for our 9 year old daughter. Her thing right now is horses...horses and more horses. I read these books and my sister did also when they first came out, these are such a clean alternative to many other choices out there. We bought volume one and of course we needed volume two! :)

These are great books. My 13 year old daughter is a horse lover and not much of a reader but loves the Golden Filly Collections.

I read Golden Filly Book one and had to get Book two. It picked up right where book one left off. It's an awsome story about horse racing, and a 16 year old girl becoming a jockey. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves to read horse stories!!!

Though I really like Lauraine Snelling's writing, this was not one of her better books.I did like the story plot and characters, but otherwise it wasn't a favorite. It dwelled on Trish's dad's death WAY too much. Her grief is understandable, but I think they 'beat the dead horse'too long.I also thought the book had too much of the "teen scene":talking about sexy boys(it actually used that word),driving hot cars, dressing up,makeup, etc. That's just stuff that shouldn't be found in a Christian book.Trish even had three boyfriends at one time! And the intimacy between her and Red was too grown-up;not something teenagers should be doing.Though the story was somewhat enjoyable, these factors turned me off.
