Its small and paperback, but I am a big fan of Max Lucado so for me it was a must buy. It would be nice to add to a gift but not as a stand alone as it is small, not as small as a tract but not really a book size either. But it was a nice read for the season.

It's just what I was hoping it would be - another great Max Lucado publication. It's so important to take time each day to reflect on God and what better way to initiate that time of devotion than with this book. Perfect gift idea too!

Only Max Lucado can take the life of Jesus and share it with us in his wonderful, fun, holy way. He walks us thru the scripture in a familiar, delightful story, starting with the very beginning baby, the Son of God and bring us full circle with the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Max brings tears to the eyes and joy to the heart in such a glorious meaningful way and all within 31 days. I bought enough copies to share with a Sunday School class and they were thrilled!!!!!!!!!

This is my first year doing an Advent Devotional, and I'm glad I started with this one! I'm only a few days into it, but so far I love it. The readings only take a couple of minutes, but really make you think and make you look and the Scriptures in a new light. Excellent!!

I used this Max Lucado pamphlet as an Advent publication. It was different from most Advent materials as it began with the birth of Christ, but moved through significant events in His life to the resurrection.

I expected this book to focus more on why we celebrate Christmas but it was more of a summary of Jesus' life. I know Jesus is the reason for the season, but I wanted more thoughtful insights relating to his birth and the coming of his kingdom among men. It was still good reading though, and my husband who never reads the Bible or attends church seemed to look forward to me reading it at supper time. I gave the book to two neighbors who don't attend any church and I hope they are reading theirs as well. I think it does a good job of presenting stories of Christ without being too heavy.

The Advent devotional begins where most end.... with the birth of Jesus', and then takes the reader thoughtfully through significant events of Jesus' birth, teaching, life, death and beyond. Excellent food for thought and growth!

I like the idea of a 30 day advent devotional. Great scriptures for each day and the readings from his books are among some of his best! And, of course the price is right. Next Advent season make it part of your devotions.

am enjoying this book very much, I'm reading it early so that I can pass it along to my daughter when Advent starts.
It was somewhat different than I thought it might be in that it is going through (orsaeesems to be so far) the life of Jesus, along with Advent thoughts. I am enjoying it very much.
