This is my favorite book by Rachel Hauck yet. I'm really becoming a fan of stories with dual timelines, where the reader hops between the past and the present. Charlotte and Emily are both captivating leading ladies who felt like my friends by the end of the book. The journey of the mysterious wedding dress was so unique and intriguing. I didn't want to put the book down.

Readers will not be disappointed with this tale. It's romantic and nostalgic. It's mysterious and surprising. Historical and contemporary fans alike will enjoy it. The love stories are certainly included and they play a pivotal role, but the real focus is on the individual journeys of the women. Watching them each discover who they are and where their faith lies creates a remarkable story.

I LOVED finding out how all their lives were connected and the ending was perfect. The story (and message) of the dress itself was beautiful. This entire series is one to keep and read over and over. I highly recommend it.

I received a free copy from Thomas Nelson & Zondervan's Fiction Guild. No review, positive or otherwise, was required - all opinions are my own.

I previously read this title back when it was released in 2012 but had very little, if any memory of it since then. Reading it again was like for the first time - both riveting, mysterious and awesome all rolled into one.

As the title suggests - The Wedding Dress is about yep a wedding dress but about four very different woman who the dress finds its possession in. Our present day Charlotte is almost propelled into purchasing an old battered trunk from a overly persuasive (if slightly hypnotic) auctioneer. Spending way more than she should have - she brings home a welding shut trunk weighing almost less nothing apart from the weight of itself.

Once opened - the aforementioned wedding dress is revealed and so starts a dawning realisation that this tale is definitely a saga and will each previous owner of the dress will form an intricate portrait once revealed.

The Wedding Dress could well fall into the typical chick lit genre and starts off very much that way but soon morphs into something far deeper and more satisfying. Each previous owner of the dress has a story unique to her history and encourage the reader to find out just how they all magically link together. And despite the different eras and customs of each, the self same love story is told.

I encourage anyone who loves a sweet yet satisfyingly deep narrative to give this one a go. You wont be sorry you did.

Just finished reading this awesome book. I loved reading about the four brides who wore the same dress and the way at the end of the book you see how the four brides were all connected. The twists and turns of the plot were all perfectly woven together. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I will definitely want to read more of her books and I am sure I will want to read this book again.

Turning a historical fan into a contemporary fan!

This book is fabulous. I mean fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! I love, love, loved it! (Apparently I'm into groups of three today).

Rachel Hauck is so sneaky, getting us historical fiction fans to love the contemporary stuff. Well, with The Wedding Dress, it worked! Although this does have a bit of back-in-time storyline, the main storyline is the here and now.

This is one book you're drawn into immediately. You know, one of those stories where all you think about is the next time you'll be able to get back to reading. The Wedding Dress was most definitely a read I couldn't put down.

This also meant I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I loved how Hauck weaved all the stories together — in ways I didn't see coming. Each story behind the wedding dress was a great one in it's own right. Each beautiful and moving. I don't remember the last time I teared up as much in a book, but I did internet. I did.

"Faith, girl, faith. At the end of the day, that's all we have."

All that to say, if you haven't read any of Rachel's book, this is a fantastic one to start with! Have you read this one? I'd love to know what you think!
