Crystal5 Stars Out Of 5Romantic Suspense with Not One but Three Romances!May 17, 2017CrystalQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0This review was written for The Witness.Amy Griffin has been on the run for years hiding to keep her family safe changing names and her appearance with every new city she calls home. Unaware that her fiance had unwillingly been drawn into a crime scam, Amy happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time when they were ambushed. Fast forward to the current day and Amy once again finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time when she witnesses a violent shooting crime at her workplace. When Chief of Police Luke Granger meets a terrified Amy after the shootings, they develop an uncommon friendship, but Amy once again goes into hiding. Years later when her father dies and secrets about his life are revealed, Amy emerges from hiding and seeks out Luke's help in keeping her sisters, and herself, safe when Amy fears her fiance's killer may use her sisters as pawns to get to her. Luke willingly complies, and with the help of two of his detectives begins protection detail for the three sisters. Coincidentally, one of the detectives was already dating one of the sisters, and as a good romance story would of course include in the plot, the second detective and sister combo also begin to fall in love. In the meantime, Luke and Amy's relationship has already become "more than friends", but they both dance around the depth of their feelings and only tentatively test the dating waters as both know that Amy may take flight again at any moment. Danger follows the three sisters intersecting with tragedy as Luke and his men try to keep the sisters safe while trying to track Amy's stalker and end the threat she's been running from for eight years.
This book was exciting with many unexpected twists and turns! Henderson draws the reader into Amy's fear for her life and her sisters' lives as she runs from her fiance's killer. You can also feel her sense of exhaustion from her life on the run and her need for it to just end. Of course, as a romantic at heart I loved the trio of romances blooming throughout the plot! Exciting ending! Romantic suspense writing at its best!
