I got this book when I was starting to attend a Faith based recovery group and found that the version doesn't make me feel ashamed of being in recovery but points out that the mess of a life I lived can be renewed into a message for others and to give others faith that if you but your trust in Jesus, He will guide you, hold your hand and will comfort you. I am so thankful for all the care that was put into the commentary notes and how they relate to life as I know it.

In addition to providing Scripture, there is helpful material specifically targeted to those struggling to escape their slavery to an addiction (actually, ANY sin for that matter). Excellent companion to anyone reading 'The Big Book'.

I've given this bible to approximately 20 people and every one of them said it was the first REAL help they got and could relate to,. I will continue to give this to those in need, just wish I could afford to buy them by the case lot.

me but to the families that I mentor. I work for a church and focus mostly on "at-risk" families. I love giving this Bible to new believers because it has a built in Bible Study. The commentary part is amazing, encouraging and real.

I have one of these myself & as a Christian counsler & friend. Ihave given several to friends & family. It is a great Bible for life. Period. Whether you are a recovering alcoholic, addict or widow, lonely, life has been extra hard on you, widower, loss of sibling, parent, or whatever this is a great gift for yourself on someone else.

This bible is so very valuable for LIFE for a recovering addict. My ex-husband needed it. He has just make Jesus his Lord and Savior and I wanted him to know that Jesus sees and knows everything that he is going through and will go through. I would recommend this bible highly.

I volunteer at a drug/alcohol rehab and have handed out these Bibles, as they are requested. Many are reading them and asking a lot of questions. It is an excellent way to connect the 12-Step Program with Scripture!

This is an excellent Bible for those of us who struggle with addiction. It allows people to read and "understand" Gods word. It also has all the steps with Bibical references and great commmantaries. Thabks to david Stoops and Stephen Arterburn.
