The Canadian West series opens with Elizabeth's move from her cultured eastern upbringing to teaching school in a one-room frontier schoolhouse. She is determined not to fall for any rowdy westerners, but then she meets a Canadian Mountie who captures her heart. The Delaney's life is full of joys and sorrows, loneliness and friendships, the bitter and sweet. Through it all their love for God and for one another grows and matures. This historical series is Christian fiction at its best!

I am a Jeanette Oke fan. She is a very good writer. This is the second time I've read this book. It's a great story. I loved how she overcame conflicts that she had to deal with. She taught the children how important it is to overlook differences and show Christlike love to all. It's a heartwarming story!

I am enjoying the book very much. However, the CBD Reader app for the iPad is not very friendly, and doesn't keep my bookmarks. If this feature worked, it would be perfect!

This book kept me interested all the way to the end. It gave some Canadian history that was very good and the story line was appealing to me. Janette Oke always has such a good christian message in her books and this one is no exception. I love it.

This book was captivating from beginning to end.The love developing in both Elizabeth's and Wynn's heart despite their previous determination and misunderstandings is captivating. They do not get passed their stubborn resolutions until the last two ages of the book so one has to keep reading. The chapters being short and well written, one has not problem reading on. Too bad a beloved character dies.

For Janette Oke fans, this series is a must. The characters are endearing and the story so beautifully told that you feel as though you are in the lives of Elizabeth and Dee. You'll enjoy each book. I'm in the process of purchasing all 27!!!

Janette Oke is a perfect example of a good, CLEAN, Christian author. The new books just don't measure up to books like this series that show true faith in Christ. This is a wonderful series that I won't have any qualms about suggesting to other people. No embarrassing predicaments that a real Christian would try and avoid like the newer authors write so easily about in their books. I am really struggling with the sameness and stupidity of the new books that are presented on the market. Thank you, Ms. Oke, for a truly enjoyable series that I will treasure for the rest of my life.

I love this BOOK!!! I have read the rest of the series up until the fourth book and I think this one tops them all. The characters are so real. As I said I love it! I would recommend any and all Janette Oke books. I like them because they are good clean books telling you about God all the while keeping up with the story line. I have read a few books that have tried to put to much in the story line and lose the characters. Janette Oke never seems to disappoint me!
