Of course the author could not cover everything indepth the same as a four year residental school but he does a fairly good job of trying to cover essentials.

I have not read the whole book yet, though I have gone through the Church history and it has really helped me understand why we are where we are in our Christian faith today. A real eye opener. Thank you.

I am a seminary graduate (1993) with a Master of Divinity degree. I purchased this book just as a "review" of some of the topics I have not looked at much in awhile. While not a substitute for the discipline of earning a degree, this was a useful refresher.

I am an ordinary Christian. This book answered some questions plus created new ones. Well written and organized, deep in some areas and simplistic in others. Be ready to take your time reading this book

For what is advertised as a seminary level book, I was a bit disappointed with the lack of differing views and overall depth of the material. This is an adequate resource for a beginning student, but certainly not what I would consider any kind of systematic theology book.

Accessible "low hanging fruit" especially for those limited logistically or financially to a formal theological higher level of learning. Well worth the purchase price.

I am a seminary student and thought this would supplement my textbooks. It is very elementary and not seminary level information. Very disappointed. It might be helpful for Sunday School teachers, but not serious Bible students.

I'm glad they included a glossary. No attempt has been made to dumb down the contents of this substantial book (784 pages). Every Christian would benefit from this book.

The "Portable Seminary" is just that, a 700+ page book full of theological and Christian training and instruction. I would expect a book like this to cost at least twice as much.

The Portable Seminary contains contributions from an impressive list of faculty and is an excellent book to study for those feeling led to pursue seminary studies. It is also great for all to examine to confirm their faith and their belief and to become soundly settled in their doctrine.

I have multiple volume sets on theology. This single volume covers the basics very well. Israelology is, as in almost all systematic theology, sadly lacking. This single volume is a very good value for the price.

A very well written overview, very easy to read. The chapters are not too long and to the point. The only negative thing I have to say is that the binding is just glue and it looks like it will not take heavy use.
