Thomas Nelson The Jesus You Can't Ignore, Book and Study Guide

A book and study guide set from John MacArthur to help you see that Jesus was not afraid of confrontation and you shouldn't be either. In The Jesus You Can't Ignore, you'll study Jesus interactions with the Pharisees, Sadducees, and temple sellers. The 8-week study guide with leader guide uses probing questions, multiple-choice exercises, and reflection activities for personal application. This can be done in a small group setting or as an individual.

John MacArthur has a bone to pickwith seeker-sensitive congregations, with Emergent Christians, with believers who emphasize orthopraxy at the expense of orthodoxy. However, I sense that the author has missed one important point: Jesus strongest attacks were against the religious leaders of his day. The author himself may be railing against the specks in others eyes while ignoring the plank in the orthodox churchs eye.Despite these misgivings, MacArthurs expositions on Jesus hard teachings are compelling and convincing. If you would like a well-researched, compelling argument against the frequent application of cultural sensitivity in Christian circles today, then I highly recommend this book.[Full disclosure: I received a free review copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an unbiased review.]
