I have been using John MacArthur's materials for years now. His content is always spot-on. This book is no exception. He provides a wealth of background information about the Jewish nation and how slavery fit in with their lifestyle, as well as how slavery was viewed and accepted in Jesus' days. He carries that over skillfully into what it means for us to be slaves (doulos) of Jesus Christ. He also talks at length about the concept of adoption of slaves in the Roman Empire and the rights and freedoms that were associated with it, drawing parallels between that and our adoption by God as members of His family, co-heirs with Jesus Christ. I would highly recommend reading this book. The accompanying workbook leads the participants through each point that John is making and gives cause for some real soul-searching questions.

Great book to study and I would recommend it to every one who want to know the whole bible and learn more in depth of the scriptures. This was a great study, to really know how we should be in total submission to the Lord because it is no longer you who live, "U" live for Christ, His will you carry out (His Agenda not your own).
