the Guardian was an excellent , biblically based , suspenseful novel . The writing was excellent , easy to read and understand . The characters were fleshed out and very realistic . I think it spoke well to the fact that this world is run by Satan , but Satan has adversaries ( luckily for this planet)

Interesting premiss kept me guessing, but I did find some logic gaps (for me) in some of the story. I don't like it when "good guys" get hurt but that is me. I would not recommend to an immature beliver or seeker. Too mystical for someone not grounded in their faith.

This book was very enjoyable. I love mystery, thrillers and especially when they are Christian novels.
The characters were interesting and it drew you into the book so you felt you were there with Anna and Jason and all the rest of the characters.
I wish the book was part of a series because I was so sad when I was through reading it. I loved it - I think I read it in 2 days it was so good!!!

After I got the bugs worked out of my phone and the download, I love having a book to read when I am waiting on things. The subject of this book is fascinating and keeps me reading!

The first couple of chapters of reading I felt it was very visable this was the authors first book. I felt there was no depth to Anna and a few other people when they were introduced in the book. After chapter 2 that was forgiven and forgotton as things heated up. All the way through the book I couldn't wait to find out what was so important that people would give their life for something they hadn't even seen. There was plenty of action to keep me happy and the spiritual battle was great. I highly recommend this book. Even though there was so much going on it was an easy read. 450 pages went very quickly.

Anna Riley is in possession of a 2,000 year old scroll, passed on from generation to generation from the apostle John. When she is appointed the guardian of the priceless scroll, she sets out on a perilous journey to unlock the secrets of the parchment.
With her protector, Jason Lang, they travel the world, hunting down the answer to the seemingly impossible riddle. Armed with the scant knowledge of her ancestors and a determination to see her mission through, she faces corruption and dodges catastrophe at every turn. Will she unlock the secrets the scroll has to offer? Or will unseen forces ultimately win the battle of good verses evil?
Religious thrillers are a dime a dozen, but this one caught my interest with it's straightforward writing, and true biblical roots. While the storyline is fiction, quite a few events are true history, even to the non-Christian world. I appreciated the lack of lovey dovey dribble, yet there was still a subtle romantic undercurrent between Anna and Jason. It was tasteful and didn't choke up the story, and I enjoyed seeing the beginnings to a romantic relationship from the guys' point of view.
The book took so many grand twists and turns, leaping out at me with it's adventures and mysteries. I stayed up half the night, willing the book to not kill off anyone important and breathlessly reading as fast as possible to find the outcome. If you like unique, Christian suspense/thriller then this is the book for you! Definitely authors to watch, and two guys that clearly didn't get the recognition they deserve for this amazing work of word art.

The scroll holds a powerful secret and the forces of evil, led by the mysterious Prince, will stop at nothing to steal it. What follows is a riveting thriller that will take the reader across Europe, to North and South America, and into the holy lands.
I found this book to be exceptional. I couldn’t put it down. First-time authors Robbie Cheuvront and Erik Reed wove a suspenseful story around biblical truth. The characters are well-developed and the story is very well-written. I found myself identifying quickly with the characters and truly being immersed in the story. I laughed when they laughed, and I cried when they cried. I love how the authors emphasized the importance of faith in God without getting preachy. I was also pleased by how “clean” the story was.
I encourage you to read this book if you like suspense. Just make sure that you have time to read it all in one sitting.

Anna Riley is living life in the moment, unaware of the forces at work in the world around her and that her life holds a greater purpose than she ever could have imagined. She suddenly learns of an ancient secret, that she is a descendent to John the Disciple and has been chosen to be guardian of a two thousand year old scroll. Anna is soon thrust into a dangerous race around the world as she seeks to uncover the secrets of the scroll before the forces of evil at work in the Vatican can find the scroll and it's secrets for themselves.
I have to admit that I began this book with great anticipation, expecting a work in the manner of The Da Vinci Code. While mystery and suspense do abound, I found the plot got bogged down in overly long or unrealistic dialogue that detracted from the story. At some points there was too much “telling” about a scene via dialogue, and not enough action. Also, when Anna chooses to walk away from her former life, including her relationship with her parents, it was hard to believe she would do so without a greater sense of loss than is allowed for in the story. There is no hint that she was mistreated or that there was any reason she would not have at least some sense of attachment to her parents that she would grieve. However, despite these issues the plot itself was enjoyable and the race to different exotic locations kept my interest. I will walk away pondering my own greater purpose in life and what adventures God has in mind for me. The book is easy to read, and I would mildly recommend The Guardian for those simply looking for a fun adventure that will entertain.

This is exactly the type of novel that I love to read! It contains mystery, suspense, action, a bit of romance and it is based on the Bible. It is a very enjoyable good vs. evil plot where I knew all along that the good guys would win, but I could not wait to keep reading to see how the story unfolds. The hero and heroine are very likable and believable characters who are easy to relate to, and the protagonist is the most evil type of character who I detested right from the start of the story.
Anna is a college student having fun at Mardi Gras when she suddenly receives a calling from an angel boy to go to her Grandfather whom she has not seen since childhood. She discovers that her Grandfather has died, but God is calling her to carry on his life work to become the guardian of the scroll given to the disciple John by God (see Revelation 10:1-4, the opening quote of the book). She goes on an incredible journey to find and uncover the secret of the scroll. Jason is a missionary teacher working in a church that Anna is led to as part of the scroll discovery process. He becomes Anna’s protector after the priest who was her Grandfather’s protector dies. Together, Anna and Jason solve the mystery behind the scroll which ultimately leads to Anna’s salvation and the grand finale of God’s triumph in the world.
Cardinal Wickham is one of the most powerful men in the Vatican who makes a pact with Lucifer and does everything in his power to obtain the scroll. He even convinces some of his fellow Cardinals to plot against the Pope who is involved in the secret of the scroll. Without being a spoiler I will only reveal that Wickham gets what he deserves in the end. The one thing that I did not like about this story is that it portrays these Cardinals as so evil that it gives a negative feeling towards the Catholic Church. In contrast, the Pope is a holy man of God who is loved by his people and used by the Cardinals to gain control of the scroll.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading Christian fiction based on the Bible.
