Review 1 for The Life of A.W. Tozer: In Pursuit of God - eBook
This book is a good overview of A. W. Tozer's life, the famous Christian author. Unfortunately, this book left me disappointed with Tozer. His biggest flaw seems to have been a lack of involvement with his wife and children. Tozer seemed obsessed with his prayer life, studying, and writing; while ignoring the daily happenings in the family at home. Worse, Tozer was more interested in researching obscure Christian "mystic" writings to become more mystic himself, than in being attentive at home, (violating 1 Timothy 5:8, if you neglect your family you are worse than a non-believer). One scene has Tozer replacing his old Emerson book set with an expensive upgrade, while his wife is reminding him that the kids need new shoes, with a twinkle in his eye Tozer gives his worn out set of Emerson books to his friend (pg. 176). If marriage is the image of Christ towards his bride, the Church (Ephesians 5), then Tozer messed that teaching. Nobody is perfect, except Jesus.
