New American Library Good Hope Road

In a time of crisis, two women come togetherand set off down a road of hope...

Twenty-year-old Jenilee Lane, whose dreams are as narrow as the sky is wide, doesnt imagine any good could come out of the tornado that has ripped across the Missouri farmland where she makes her home. But some inner spark compels her to take action. To rescue her elderly neighbor Eudora Gibson from the cellar in which shes been trapped. To make her way to the nearby town of Poetry, where the townspeople have begun to gather in the only building left standing. To collect from the devastated landscape fragments of life that lie strewn about in the tornados wake: letters, photographs, and mementos that might mean something to people who have lost everything.

I read this book quite awhile ago and really loved it! When the tornado was wiping out the area Jenilee lives in, I could imagine being there! Seeing the devastation, feeling the sadness of losing everything. I loved it when she is rescuing her neighbor, Eudora, from the cellar. Eudora reminded me a lot of one of my aunts. As Jenilee makes her way into town, through debris from the storm, she gathers pieces of pictures and other memories that have been strewn about by the tornado. She takes these things to town and puts them up on a board, hoping people might recognise some of it. Jenilee becomes involved in helping so many people, while waiting to hear if her brother and dad made it. This is a wonderful, heartwarming story that you won't soon forget! I haven't.
