Zondervan The Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus

A seasoned journalist chases down the biggest story on record in The Case for Christ. Retracing his own spiritual journey from atheism to faith, former Chicago Tribune legal editor Lee Strobel cross-examines a dozen experts with tough, point-blank questions in search of credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth was positively the Son of God. This riveting quest for the truth about history's most compelling figure reads like a captivating, fast-paced novel, yet it's anything but fiction! An ideal paperback for skeptics!

I was so impressed by this book. I'm going to send it or the DVD to one person who is not a Christian and one who's son keeps trying to lead her away.

I have heard Lee Strobel speak and he is compelling and interesting as his books. I recommend this book if you need a concise, informative, credible evidence on this subject. Very good for bible study to help you understand what you beleive and to help those who are not sure they beleive.

I found this paperback book at a great affordable deal. The other side of this coin is that this book is a little difficult to read and following the writer. But hopefully has I continue to read on maybe I will be able to grasp what the writer is trying to prove.

I found the book to be very enlightening, factual and spiritual in the way Mr. Strobel conducted his investigation. This is the second time I have bought his book. I gave the first one to a person who's faith is not very strong. It has made a difference.

I mentor young pastors---seminary graduates---in the area of theology. But, I call my approach "Practical Theology" instructing them to wear their theology in their shoes, not in their heads. THE CASE FOR CHRIST, & its companion volumes are constant reference sources.

It is interesting that Christ is still on trial today and even after over 2000 years we find the world has condemned an innocent man to death. In this book it is obvious that the evidence proves Him to be the Christ and the Lord of all and we crucified him based upon our ignorance of truth. The book proves Jesus' innocence and diety. Truly the just shall live by faith because man's reasoning is not adequate.

This was an excellent book which was very well presented. Mr. Strobel provided irrefutable evidence that Jesus is the Christ (Messiah). He starts out explaining is unbelief in God and through a very personal and thorough search, has found that Jesus Christ is the only Way, Truth, and Life and that no one comes to the Father except by their belief in Jesus.

This book gives you a wealth of information, so that you can check things out for yourself if you want to do more research. I was surprised to find that it was really gripping even though I was learning so much. This book is an excellent find and I would strongly recommend it for skeptics, new believers, or anyone wanting a better understanding of Jesus and the Bible!!

This book is much more suited for a Christian who desires a quick rejoinder in a debate. This really fails to live up to a real journalist investigation. There is bias, because Strobel is a believer...there are many instances in which he lets things go, when he accepts what he is told, he does not challenge point by point with the vehemence skeptics would. This book is for a Christian, not a skeptic. I think skeptics would really laugh at the attempt. The Case for Creator book was much stronger in content. For any real start in apologetics, I would highly recomment Mere Christianity. Lewis delves right in deep to the real issue, Jesus Christ. He goes through very well taking you from skeptical thought, deism, to the unique claims of Christianity and Jesus Christ. He uses sound reasoning with no real flaws.

A great book that is an introduction to apologetics. Awesome for people that want to start witnessing, or for people that are looking into Christianity that want some answers.

Very well written and organized. As a believer, I had no problem with the majority of the arguments. In fact, I was amazed at the trash skeptics conjure up... I suppose they feel the same about us. This helped me to understand what subjects the skeptics are skeptical about. I can use the content of this book as an apologetic. (cf. 1 Peter 3:15)

There was a reviewer that claimed there was no "cross examination," by Lee. The reviewer desired to have Lee invite a skeptic into his search to disprove Jesus as who He said He was. Lee WAS the skeptic. He was attempting to prove Jesus to be a fraud. Lee was just like you.. asking questions. There were answered, sufficiently, for him. The question is, "is there any evidence that could be produced to prove Jesus is who He said He was?" And, "How much room is there in your life or desires for faith because faith must needs be included in any "faith."
