I love the thought provoking, reflective way that Susie shares her story and Scripture insights in this beautiful DVD. The combo of the DVD and book are amazing together! The DVD takes what is studied and brings it to a whole new, personal level--with personal reflections from Susie that bring a real face and more meaning to the pages written. Susie speaks and writes with unusual clarity about the obstacles and lies that keep women from seeing how much God loves us and how desperately He wants us to live out our-God empowered purpose. She is heart-breakingly honest, candid, humorous and compelling in her effort to share truths from the Scripture and from her experiences. The DVD follows the chapters which makes for an excellent group study or for individual learning. I found myself hearing truths--explained in real terms--that have encouraged me through a very difficult season of life. I would recommend this book/DVD companion to women in any season of life!

This beautifully shot DVD is a well thought-out, wonderfully fit companion to the book,YOUR BEAUTIFUL PURPOSE: Discovering and Enjoying what God Can Do Through You, which together would make a great study among trusted friends who pray for one another. It was helpful to get an expanded view of the different sections of the book, and Susie Larson's messages are heartfelt and vulnerable, yet full of courage and conviction. I appreciated the portions where she is asked some of the discussion questions which appear in the book. I also loved the prayers that are offered for the study participants. They are powerful petitions that ring genuine.

The book itself sent a beautifully encouraging message to engage the life-changing, world-transforming power that God offers, but which only comes through long and oftentimes difficult processes in which I decrease and He increases in me. He brings into the light all that I want, all I have, and all that would destroy me. And bit by bit, as I can bear it—and sometimes when I feel like I cannot bear it—He refines me and shapes me into a vessel fit for His use. And then, gloriously, He uses me.

The book is helpful in understanding where I am in my process, even if I feel all over the place; to remember that it's all about Him, even if I tend toward self-consciousness; to see that God has not forgotten about me, even in seasons where I seem to be gift-less and purposeless; and to remember and trust that He is preparing me for my "next place of promise."

I would recommend a slow and purposeful reading of the book, setting aside a good deal of time for the study questions. These aren't "if you were a tree, what tree would you be" kinds of questions. They dig deep and require ample reflection, solitude, honesty, and sometimes courage, to answer.
