Random House, Inc Jane Eyre

Hailed as a work of genius immediately after it was published Jane Eyre is still beloved today. The story of the poor, obscure, plain, and little governess who endured suffering at the hands of those who both despised and loved her, Jane's forceful passion and clarity of vision has left its mark upon literature. 493 pages, softcover.

This is my favorite book ever! I actually got this edition at Borders. A warning to anyone unfamiliar with the story-do NOT read the introduction before reading the book! It gives away huge plot elements and surprises. I was very disappointed when I found out some things that would have been a great surprise. The story is so modern, passionate, and uplifting. Jane is someone to look up to. And Rochester, well...he sure beats Darcy in my opinion! ;) Towards the end it did get slightly boring. That was my only complaint. While reading this book, I cried, laughed, and sighed happily when it was romantic. This book definitely deserves a spot on your bookshelf!
