Love this text! I am a home schooling mom of 2 children; an 11 year old son who is in 6th grade and a 14 year old daughter who is in 9th grade. I recently added this to the Rainbow Science curriculum I am using with my 11 year old son. I was thrilled when he asked if we had to stop reading it for the summer. Even though the content is fascinating, he would not be able to fully grasp the content without me there to discuss it with him. We also have the workbook, DVD and just ordered the second volume of this set.
