This is a wonderful book about what it's like to be a young child. My daughter and I have read and listened to it as an audio book 4 or 5 times, and it's still entertaining. Best of all, it is a book that contains a lot of truth, and as John Calvin said, "All truth is from God." I actually really liked the Jesus Beezus part, because Ramona, being brave and remembering what she learned in Sunday school, chastised the boys. I remember doing something similar when I was a kid in kindergarten. In no way does the book condone the boys' delight in rhyming these words to irritate Ramona's sister. (I personally wouldn't call what they said swearing, but I realize some people would.)

Beware of Misuse of Savior's Name. If you're like me, I NEVER thought I'd write this about a Beverly Cleary book. I loved some of her books as a child. I turned over a copy to my 6 year old I happened to read ahead of the children chanting to Ramona's sister, Beezus, "Jesus, Beezus." I felt I should post this in case there are others out there who are considering this book. No. I have not seen the movie so I don't know if the chanting/teasing scene is included. It goes to show - Christian parents need to be on their guard. I just never expected it here.
