SeitoBrooklynAge: 35-44Gender: Male5 Stars Out Of 5ProfoundNovember 6, 2015SeitoBrooklynAge: 35-44Gender: MaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book is probably the best book I have ever read on Scripture. James White did a phenominal job of writing a book and not being biased in the least bit. He did a phenominal job of articulating what Scripture says, means and lets Scripture interpret Scripture. I love the way that he broke away from typical academic discourse by using dialogue between Joshua and other characters to "debate" on the topic of Sola Scriptura vs 'insert topic against Sola Scriptura here.' A phenomenal scholarly work that I will be sure to read again. If you don't mind reading a book that is methodical, scholarly and assiduous, then you'll love this book. I highly recommend it.

Dr. David R. Bess4 Stars Out Of 5Does Well at Attesting the Bible's "Accuracy, Authority and Authenticity"November 6, 2019Dr. David R. BessThere is no doubt that James White is a very capable scholar who has a strong command of the Bible's inspiration and development. There are many nuggets of truth in this work that will serve the reader well in combating claims against the Bible's credibility. The reason I gave it only 4 stars was the discussion format he used between two friends who were arguing various points about Scripture. I would much rather White had given his own views directly, rather than clothing them with an interchange between two fictional individuals. Other than that one drawback, this book is a good resource for anyone seeking to respond to criticisms of Biblical authority today. One other thing -- I loved the section on "The Lord Spoke to Me...!" Even though it was in the conversation format, he addressed a subject that greatly needed attention in the current climate of "personal, direct revelation." Well done, Dr. White!
