In this book Barclay paints the varied backgrounds of the New Testament books and marks the distinctive viewpoints of its several writers as they seek to interpret the significance of the gospel. With masterfully good sense he allows us to see that Paul and James' theology are not in conflict, but rather, complimentary. We need both faith and good works if we are to realize the fullness of the Christian calling.
