BJU Press Math 2 Student Worktext 3rd Edition

BJU Press' well-known reputation and commitment to both academic and biblical quality shines forth in all their textbooks. This new edition of Math 2 includes brightly colored photographs and illustrations. Student will practice and learn new math skills such as addition, place value, subtraction, time, measurement, money, multiplication, fractions, geometry, division and more. Yet students won't "just" learn math, as each chapter is fully integrated with biblical principles and applications for Christian character. Manipulatives should be used for a hands-on approach, until the student gradually comes to a place of abstract thought. Daily review and cumulative reviews provide ample opportunity for concept mastery. 360 pages, softcover. Grade 2. 3rd Edition.

BJU Press was formerly called Bob Jones; this resource is also known as Bob Jones Math 2 Student Worktext, 3rd Ed.

Somehow I missed that the teacher's guide was important to have with this book. The workbook pages are great, but it's missing the teaching tools.

Our son loves this math. The workbook has themed lessons & colorful pages (a big plus). We use this along with the review book as it gives a review page for each lesson.

I'm a homeschooling mom. I've not really used "Christian-based" curriculum before (outside The Classical Mind: Story of the World) As a former teacher in the public schools, I had a good understanding of a lot of different math curriculum. I took my daughter through Everyday Math with great success, but needed another book to finish out the year(as I didn't want to push her to the next grade level just yet) My mom is a teacher in a Christian school and recommended this workbook. My daughter is a VISUAL learner and therefore the colorful pages with great attention to detail and explanation work great for her. We also had tried Saxon...although Saxon has lots of components, it is extremely monotonous and plain...the only "lacking" thing with BJU's Math is the lack of daily fact review...so, I would advise flash cards or just a review addition/subtraction/multiplication workbook to go along with it.
