This Christmas Aleni is about to step into the unknown as while on ER duty , she meets Brice Taylor, one of the contestants for the local Polar Bear Plunge. Brice Taylor however isn't just your average Joe Bloggs though , he was a Soldier and during the war in Afghanistan his troop was attacked and Brice survived and then wrote a book about it. For Aleni, though this brings back too many memories as she lost her husband Eli two years ago. Eli was also a soldier who was on tour. As the book goes along, we read a back and forth banter between Aleni and Brice as he buys her and her son Ty gifts and Aleni sees them as Charity. Can Aleni allow herself to fall in love again or is it too soon as she views it a betrayal to Eli ? Find out this Christmas with Polar Bear Plunge as Aleni gets a second chance at being plunged headfirst into a relationship . As always , a wonderful quick read from White Rose Publishing and the other thing is that this book does get teary as I thought from the cover that it may have been a light-hearted read.

Review 2 for Polar Bear Plunge (Novelette) - eBook
Nurse Aleni Callan is much less than impressed when she discovers Afghanistan veteran Brice Taylor in her care at the hospital after a polar bear plunge gone wrong. How dare he be so stupid? But not only that, how dare he have lived through Afghanistan when Aleni's beloved husband, the father of her little boy, didn't?
Somehow Brice wins over Aleni's mother-in-law, who believes it's time Aleni let Eli go, but Aleni sees this as nothing but meddling. She doesn't want to have a nice Christmas, thankyouverymuch, and resents Brice's gift of a Christmas tree after she goes out of her way (all in the name of duty, mind you) to help him. However, she breaks her foot kicking the tree to the curb and finds herself beholden to Brice once again.
Can two survivors find it possible to love again? (With a few nudges from a little boy and a mother-in-law...)
Polar Bear Plunge is one of the ebook novellas I've read recently, on sale at Amazon for $.99 for the month of December. The author did a great job of swinging the mood of the story from snickers to serious with Afghanistan never far from either character's mind. If you're looking for one more quick holiday read, check this one out.

Review 3 for Polar Bear Plunge (Novelette) - eBook
Linda Glaz is a fresh new voice in Christian Fiction and I look forward to reading more of her work.
As humans we look tend to jump to conclusions based on outward appearances. But God looks on the heart. As Christians, we too often let our own hurts and prejudice keep us from being our best. It also keeps us from helping and reaching out to others as Christ would have us do. How often does God give us a gift and we reject it?
I like it when a story teaches me something useful, right along with the characters. In Polar Bear Plunge Linda has written a story with great take-home value and I highly recommend it.
