After using a different math curriculum for our first homeschooled child, I switched to BJU math for our son starting in Kindergarten. BJU math focuses on a different topic each chapter, just like we were used to from our preschool workbooks. I think a math curriculum that reviews too many topics in each lesson might be too distracting for some students.
We are still getting along fine without the teacher's manual for 3rd grade, and I also use the chapter reviews as tests to save money.
Our son looks forward to finding out where Hal and his pet squirrel are visiting each chapter. He also looks forward to the problem solvers.
